Well been a while and truck has been working well. Had several really overloaded loads on it and it dumped them with easy. I have had wet dirt in it and dumped it fine. Tonight was 1st time I need to put the gooseneck on it and worked fine. I went through several ditches in a field and bed never hit trailer. The pictures make it look closer than it is.

Now the big question, does anybody have a spreadsheet to calculate all these numbers. I will be building a dump trailer next summer and it would be nice to have a spreadsheet that one just need to fill in the values and get the results.

It would be a lot more fun to have you post a new thread and let LD1 and I dicker over the details again.

I don't have any spreadsheet created, but it should be a big deal to do it. What specifically are you going to want to know?

I am always up for the challenge:laughing:

oh...and Eric,

If you do start a new thread, be sure to either PM us or throw a link in this thread.

I dont always catch all the new threads that come up. TBN is a pretty happening place:D

But if you reply to this thread with a link, it will pop to the top of my "subscribed" threads and I'll be sure to see it.

I took a minute and started a spreadsheet. Let me know if this answers the questions you may have.

The spreadsheet is in the attached zip folder. I have protected the sheet to keep the formulas from being messed up. I didn't put any kind of password on it, though, so unprotecting it is easy if anyone wants to make modifications.

I'd love to get feedback if anyone sees problems with the calculations.

Might I offer a suggestion for the spreadsheet.

Personally I still dont like the torque calculations. Too much work for the same end result IMO. But there is more than one way to skin a cat:D

Anyways, I dont like having to input the max load and having to look at the "torque needed" and "torque avaliabe" to know wether it will dump.

Instead, I like the "max load" to be what is solved for instead of inputed. And with all the other info you provided, it is very easy.

Your spread-sheet is read only:mad: but the formula for "max dump" would be...

=(C29/((C26/2)-C27))*G19)

If you so choose:D

If you want to change anything on the spreadsheet just unprotect the sheet. There's no password on it. I protected the sheet to make it more clear to a user where the inputs were vs. the results. If that doesn't fix the problem, it may be due to some security setting on your computer as it was downloaded from the internet. "Save As" may solve that problem.

I added a section for the Max Dump calculation using your formula (I had to add a parenthesis). I can see how that could be useful.

I'm always amazed at the abilities of some folks on these forum and this is a prime example. Mechanic, welding, electrical, painting & hydraulic. Heck of a job.
