I see you also have toolboxes under the bed, in front of the rear wheels... how much do you want to store ??
Personally i would have preferred a 2ft wide tool cabinet over the full width of the truck, directly behind the cab, so you could load a pallet with a forklift from the side. But then you'd have to reach deep into it to grab your tools. So thats personal preference.
I have 2 8 foot 16 x 12 boxs on the top of the bed along with a 2 foot open box to put stuff in, then put 2x behind to keep dirt and rock from the boxes. Then on the bottom I put a 48x18x18 box on the drivers side which has the pump and a 2500w inverter in it them I am putting a 48x24x18 box made out of expanded metal to put my fuel cans and other junk in on passanger side.
Reason for all the boxes is this truck gets used for a service/supply truck that gets worked out of. it will be nice to have all the stuff in one place and not have to load up for every job.
Weighs 8650 with me and 1/2 full of fuel and some stuff in the boxes so came in a little lighter than I thought but that is a good thing. With the other bed without fuel or me it was 9500 lbs. Only thing I have hauled is scrap iron but dump it just fine.
Well been using this for a week or so and hauled some scrap iron, sand and landscape rock. it works very good and dumps with more than enough angle that nothing sticks in it. The gravel pit were I get material is very good at loading so I have kept it at 3ton and no more as dont want to over load the truck. It dumps just fine and 3 ton looks like such a small amount in the bed of the truck so I will have to be careful not over load when loading it @ home. Enjoy the photos
Looks good! Looks like it turned out just the way you had it planned. It's nice to be able to build on an idea and it come together in the end as a very usuable tool.
