I'm envious as i'm just bought a f350 and took the van box off and would like to make a dump box.
Would you tell me the basic materials used to fab the bed?
eg. i see you used channel for the out side edge but what size.

Great job on the dump bed! What other materials do you plan to haul (and dump) with it?? I know you mentioned scrap metal, but was just curious what else you had in mind. Dirt, gravel, etc?

For the bed I used 6x4 3/16 tube for the main beams and 1x3 3/16 for the cross members and 3/8 C channel for the sides and dont remember the bed metal is was around 11ga or so I know is was an odd size. All the metal was just laying around. I used a cylinder of old dump truck for the lift I had the size in on of my 1st posts. I put 2x12's behind the tool boxes so that I would not have worry about beating the boxes up.

We have used it for everything from broken concrete, dirt, rock, gravel, mud, scrap iron and pipe. it has dumped everything that has been put in it. Some one put WAY to much millings in it ie 5 ton and it dumped it with ease.
I put as much black dirt as would fit and it will dump just fine. but legally I can put about 3 ton in it which puts me at just under 16,000lbs.
I also has no issuies pulling the gooseneck.

Can't wait to see the pictures. After using this for awhile I don't think handle not having a truck set up like this.

I am adding a extra box on passenger side under the bed to put fittings in and trying to come up place to put shovels. I added a 4" straight pipe stack on it as old exhaust was to quiet lol.

Also looking for a back up camera set up any suggestions?

Do you guys in the USA need to do a DOT test after modifying the superstructure (which alters the empty vehicle weight) the towbar construction and the rear overhang ?
Here in Europe you need all kinds of special permits for a single one-off approval on a hitch mounting frame, or a fatigue test for a type approval.

I dont think we need any think special.

But I could be wrong.
