Survey - what stuff in the tractor toolbox.

In my toolbox...Claw hammer, the claws are good for prying and pulling pins, a couple of Cresent wrenches, Channellock pliers, a pair of dykes, wire cutters that is, straight and phillips screwdrivers, I'd carry the six way screwdriver I have in my truck but it makes a lousy chisel. Extra lynch pins, grease rags and most importantly, two packs of 'Boros and a back up lighter.

Besides the standard tools which everyone lists, I carry a 3/8" tow chain with grab hooks and a short length of chain with a slip hook and clevis link. Also work gloves and rags-got to have lots of rags always.

Tool box:
As I also sit on black and look at orange a tool box is not an issue. However; when working on a hot day it is very advisable to hydrate the old body and a cool drink every once in a while sure is refreshing. Conversly; on a cold day a hot drink is sure nice. Has anyone mounted a Koolatron on their tractor for containing cold/hot drinks or maybe heating up a meal when far from the kitchen?

It aint that long a hike to my garage ....... where I keep my massive collection of tools .......... in a shoebox.

How about a BIG tool box to hold a bigger tractor (in case ya get stuck ?) Hum, seriously, I really don't have a place for a tool box or a cup holder. But if I did, I could never hold as much stuff as I need. It seems ya always need to go back to the barn /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

One thing I think could be important, if not life-saving, is a loud whistle, so you can try to get some attention and help if you need it in a hurry.

I just ordered a couple, figure my wife I and can wear them around our necks while tractoring, chainsawing, whatever.

Oh boy, Neil! /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif I'm going to hate myself for even mentioning this, but here in the U.S of A. the muffler bearing is usually located slightly behind and to the left of the henway.

While we're talking about henways, what do people keep in their toolbox to keep away the snipes, assuming you have them in your areas? When they get flushed by hunters, they can be a major nuisance.
