Amway, and it sounds like Amsoil, are MLM(Multi Level Marketing) organizations/companies, what ever you wish to call them, and are not supposed to run out of money.
Pyramid/Ponzi scams are different.
In a Pyramid/Ponzi scam the first people into the scam make money off of the people getting into the scam later on. The money gets cycled until it runs out because not enough new people feed the scam or the scam is busted. A Ponzi scheme will fail. It has to fail since the "profits" that are promised can only go to a few people based on how much money is pulled in from newer members/investors. The more members/investor the more money that has to be pulled in from new members/investors. Eventually there are not enough new members/investors to pay off the earlier member/investors so the whole thing falls apart.
Its like the Social Security system.
