I just put on a Tiny Tach on my BX2200. I know I lived without a tach for a long time, but it bugged me. It works just as advertised. I thought y'all might want ideas for mounting this, so he're are some pix. I know how we're all addicted to em.... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

This pic is from the driver's seat...

Here is a view from the back of the dash. On the BX, there is a large phillips screw that holds the dash on, and I used that to mount the bracket I made from a piece of flat steel. I painted it Kubota Gray...

Here is the transponder mounted to the fuel line, once again painted Kubota Gray. The transponder is the 6mm model and it leaves a small gap between the two halves that nobody mentioned (I thought I might have the wrong size, but everything works perfectly).

I'd like to mention what a pleasure it was doing business with these people. Honest, fast and courteous...I think a lot of businesses could learn a lot from them. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Nice job!

I just received my Tiny Tach last week. I agree with you, that company is sure a pleasure to deal with.

I plan to mount my tach in the same place that you mounted yours. I am using a piece of 1 1/2 inch alum. angle for my mount. I shot it with primer and will finish it with flat black. I plan to drill a 3/8 inch hole in the dash and run the wires through a rubber grommet. How did you route your wires? Where did you connect to the power?

I plan to use a 9 volt battery to power the tach rather than connecting it to the tractors electrical system. I may change the power source when my warranty period is over. Tiny Tach says that a 9 volt battery should last a minimum of one year.

I drilled a small hole in the top of the cowl to route the wires, which I sealed with some silicone. The transponder cable followed the wiring harness down the right side of the steering wheel, through the firewall and wire-tied it to the harness that goes up over the engine and along the air filter. You'd have to look pretty hard to find the cable and it's out of the way for servicing the engine.

As far as power, I found an empty connector just hanging above the battery with 4 female spade plugs. One of those wires were ground, another was +12v with ignition on. I put male spade connectors on there, that way I can disconnect easily if I ever have need to.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't see any power connectors under my dash. I will look again, maybe they are pushed up under the dash where I couldn't see them.

Your installation looks great. I too bought one of the tiny tachs and have been impressed with acurate readings. I have a Sims cab on my 2200 that makes installation a bit easier in that there is power by the windshield and a small "dash" that I have used velcro to attach my tach.

I have been looking at www.tinytach.com, but I am not sure which one to get. I assume the commercial diesel model. What transducer size for the BX?

Dwayne:
I ordered the 6mm transducer. It fits around the injection line. I am not really sure if it is the right size as there is a bit of a gap. It works fine so I guess I'll leave it alone.
You might want to measure your fuel line just to make sure.
