I installed one of these on my BX about a month ago I used the same connector for power. I mounted mine just to the right of the throttle on the flat part of the dash (with velcro) Figured this was a good place since I would be looking there when I adjusted the throttle. I just cut the tabs off of the sides so it would fit just right. and then ran the wires from the tach to the hood release and ran them right under the hood release grommet...( no holes to drill ) I ran the tranducer wire through the grommet that the throttle cable runs through on the firewall. It made for a pretty clean install and I can remove it and you wouldn't even know it was ever there.
Nice install on yours! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bought mine directly from the company, in fact I ordered it right from their web site. Showed up via UPS 4 days later. I called their office a couple times with questions, and they are great people to work with. It was in fact the Commercial Diesel model, with the 6mm transducer size. Cost was about $65 plus shipping.

I know it's not a "necessary" thing to have, you can run by ear alone, but it sure is nice to know where you are in the power curve. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

NY Yankees Fan:
I run my bx2200 at 2100 rpm for FEL and 2500 for MMM in heavy grass.
I got this tractor after all the snow so I have not run my front mount snowblower but with my 2160 I ran the snow at full throttle otherwise the shoot would plug up with wet snow. Hope this helps.

With my MMM I run it at about 3000 to get the tip speed up for better vacuum and to shoot the clippings to prevent windrowing. Everything else, at about 2200-2500, depending on the job. I don't have a blower, so I can't help you there.

Charliebrn... I took another look above the battery for the connecter you referred to. Sure enough it is there. Mine was tie-wrapped to a harness and was hard to see.

Thanks for the info.

Here is a picture of the connecter. As mentioned above, my connecter was tie-wrapped up under the dash. It was very hard to see.

I installed my Tiny Tach last evening using charliebrn's information as a guide. The only thing that I did differently was that I drilled a 3/8 inch hole in the dash in front of the tach and fed the wires through a grommet.

Thanks charliebrn for the photos and comments. It made my instalation a lot easier.

The tach works as advertised!

I have an extra grommet if anyone wants it. Email your address and I will mail it to you.

John
