$200 for my 2500 GMC. 1 year in PA
When the Taxation Party (i.e. the Democrats) took over Nevada state government a few years ago one of their first acts was to massively increase registration fees on vehicles - that "they need to pay their fair share" business. So this year the registration fee for my 2016 F150 was $478. Registration fee on my 16 year old Dodge Ram dually was $268.
They needed to build more roads down around Las Vegas where 99% of their constituents reside.
Florida decided to raise its tag fees this year. So mine went from $ 104 to $ 153.35 for the Chevy 3500 Dually. How's everybody else doing?
At one time I had 24 vehicle tagged but now down to 3... the rest are non-op registered for a one time $22 fee not to drive.
I don稚 remember the exact numbers but trailer tags went from something like $40 to a $140 here in Illinois. Cars and light trucks are $151. 3 vehicles and a trailer add up.
No one has yet mentioned the Virginia Personal Property tax on vehicles, so I will chime in...
Virginia taxes personal property at NADA blue book value annually. I think it is right around 4% or so. Cost me roughly $1,000 last year for tax and $65 for actual tags for my '06 Dodge 2500. Since it is registered for 10k gross, it does not get a tax rebate like vehicles less than 8k gross. Now my '02 Ranger was around $100 tax and $65 tags... Makes one wonder where the money is being used. My gravel road has potholes approaching the size of an old VW beetle....
Another really good reason in my opinion to not live there. As far as I know CA is the only State that charges vehicle owners a fee not to operate.
i think Calif would charge for the use Of Oxygen if they could figure out how to meter it.Another really good reason in my opinion to not live there.
