Kioti CX2510
I’m taking my Kioti CX2510 HST open station on the road for the first time this weekend to my new undeveloped property. I’ll be doing some backhoe work and ditch clean out, some private gravel road maintenance with the land plane and some exploration. Not sure I’m equipped for much else, though if I can get a brush hog before then I might do that too.

I’ve been thinking all week about what to bring with me. I just completed my 50 hour service so I hopefully won’t need to worry about anything breaking. But what would you experienced guys be bringing with you on your tractor road trips? It’s about an hour away from my house so I don’t want to have to come back home if something breaks down if I can avoid it. I will also be pulling my used 20’ trailer for the first time (except when I drove it home empty when I bought it). I’ve gone to a lot of effort to make sure the truck is ready as well.

I’m thinking extra fluids and a funnel mainly, some sockets and wrenches, grease gun, a hammer, my chainsaw and tools to service that. Of course I’ll have all the stuff to tie down the tractor. Not sure what else.

Sounds like you have good idea of what's needed.... I have a "on the road" tool box (left over from autocross race days) ..
Contains:
Metric/SAE socket set
Metric /SAE combination end wrench set
Assorted screwdrivers
Assorted pliers
"Crescent" wrench or two...
Hammer
Hand full of ZIP ties
Small roll of mechanics wire
Hack saw.
Roll of electrical tape
Assorted hand full of odds and ends...

And all in this size tool box...

Don't forget a couple pairs of good gloves and at least a 6 pack of bottled water and your cell phone if things get out of hand.

I road both my tractors quite a bit as a couple of my hayfields aren't contiguous to the farm but I'm driving them on the roads, not trailering them.

I’ve taken my CX on road trips many times, I’ve never brought more than a few hand tools that I keep in my ammo can that I have on the back along with extra pins and clevis’s. I do keep a tool kit in my truck though so I have that if needed. Never had a breakdown or any need to bring fluids or anything like that.

A tire plug kit and an air pump.

Let us know how you trip goes.

All the above plus:

Spare shear bolts. My philosophy - if enough is too much, more is better.

In the truck cab (all goes back into the shop when I get home):
Dewalt 20V air compressor
Dewalt 20V 1/2" impact wrench, lug nut socket set (SAE & metric), 6" extension
Dewalt 20V drill & drill bits.
Spare 20V batteries
Assortment kit of 1/4" bolts, nuts, and washers.

Clean clothes to wear home, if nothing else it makes you feel better and others in the vehicle happy.

I have a spare tire for each trailer mounted on the trailer. I take 2 if a long trip, pull one off another trailer that is the same size. Never fails if you run over something it takes out both tires on that side.

These stay in my truck toolbox:
3-ton hi-lift floor jack
Trailer Helper for changing a flat tire
Wheel chocks
1/2" Impact sockets (SAE & metric) up to 1 1/4"
24" 1/2" 250# torque wrench
24" 1/2" breaker bar & 4' cheater bar that fits it
24" channel locks
24" crescent wrench
36" pry bar
4-way lug wrench
UHaul or Harbor Freight moving blanket (furniture pad) to lay or kneel down on, pavement gets hot. Cheap enough to throw away and replace if it gets too dirty.
Jumper cables
20' 2" flat tow strap
2" webbing cargo net big enough for the 8' bed on the 3500HD

Cell phone w/battery backup, with a pdf loaded of the workshop manuals and hotspot if you've got it for wireless. Plenty of extra rope of varying thicknesses. I usually carry a tarp. And either a small chainsaw or a bow saw, in addition to my knives.
If it's in the Huntsville area it looks like a good weekend - no storms. The ones we got last week were significant.

In 2019 we bought a "remote" piece of property (3hrs away) that was nothing but woods. I built a driveway and cleared land along with built a cabin. Only contracted out the delivery of stone.

It only took one long weekend being wasted via a broken hyd hose to make me realize that extra hoses and hydraulic fluid are always needed..because if you do have them you wont blow a hose.

Spare tire for the trailer, plugs and compressor too. Along with general tools.

I live in Huntsville and purchased land in the Lawrence county/Moulton area. Where are you based?

I was all set to go out last week, but after Saturday night’s storms I figured it’d be a big mud hole if I tried to go out Sunday.

I think the cordless impact driver and sockets (dewalt for me) are a nice tool. I can do it with the lug wrench, but I can do it 10X faster with the impact driver and socket.

Also double the lift jack idea. Been doing that for a few years and needed it a few times. So much better than a bottle/scissor jack. Was hauling my boat down east a few years ago and had a flat. Bottle jack I had in the truck was too short. Luckily I scrounged around in the woods and found a semi rotten 4 inch branch that sufficed to bring it up enough. That was my hmmm moment. I also bring a short 6-8" board incase the ground is miry.

Time is money...
