Maybe kinda related....

But if the temperature outside is much above -40 it doesn't take me long to get a sweat worked up. A little activity or a barely warm day and I'm soaking wet in 30 minutes. It seems to start on my head and work down. My hair will be soaked and the neck of my shirt wet while everyone else is just gettin' warmed up. To top it all off I'm cursed with having to wear prescription glasses so I waste a lot of time cussin' sweat and wipin' glasses.

I've done his since I was a kid. It's a family curse and I know you all didn't really need to hear all this....

But

Have any of you guys found a way to dress or a type of headgear in particular that's good for keeping sweat from interfering with what you're trying to do?

The old Willie Nelson bandanna method just don't seem to work for me.:D

I can soak a bandanna in just a little while.

Edit to add: Air conditioned cabs are out of the question!

we must be related

I've got a sugestion for the sweat-in-the-eyes problem.. I witnessed my dad do this when I was young. He wore a womans pad on his forhead to soak up the sweat  . I remember it working well for him. I too have to fall in the too harsh on the eyes statement. I would be willing to get a calander going if it's something that you guys, and ladies would like to do. Heck there's probably people who would even pay money to laugh at us.

That reminds me of an incident while flying in the Navy.... We were swimming in the hotel pool while in Pattaya Beach, Thailand. One of my friends dove into the pool and hit his head on another swimmer. Proper medical attention was eventually administered to him, but in the interim, the sight of him with a woman's pad on his head will stick with us forever. It also generated a new call sign for life, "T_mP_x Head". :D :D Too funny.

Eddie,
I really had a good chuckle when I read your post. I am in the states and have the shopping list my husband gave me. Turns out I was at Walmart every day and sometimes twice a day during this trip. I scored $5 pull on cotton knit shorts with deep pockets which is what hubby wanted, and I couldn't find anything as good in the womens department so I bought the same shorts for myself. With my husband's chainsaw hand injury I was on top of the world when I found him tennis ,shoes with velcro. When I called him and told him I found $10 tennis shoes at Walmart with velcro instead of laces he was extatic. It is hard to tie your shoes with one hand. Honestly if it doesn't have suspenders, like my bib overalls or elastic waists we don't want it. The shoes were such a good deal I bought him 2 pairs. I got myself 2 pair of lightweight jean shorts with an elastic waist, those will be so comfy in the cooler season.

In the summer it is so hot here we and our neighbors discretely work just in our underwear or even au natural. Really it does get hot here. One of my greatest joys of owning the olive farm is not having to wear an upper undergarmet, oh what a joy that is. I see I am digressing form what we wear to what we don't wear so I better quit now or risk getting my post pulled from this G rated website  Also we wear leather work gloves every day, I never work without them.

Egon,
Your post reminds me of my life in Wisconsin. Although it is very hot, since it is so dry and arid we don't get mosquitos. Well if you see one every two or three days that is the most and the French get very upset if they even have one tiny mosquito flying around them, what sissies !!!(shhhhh don't tell them I wrote that :))
