I am planning to trade my Kubota B2400 (300 hrs.), Kubota FEL & mmm for a TC 40D hyd, R4's & 16LA w/ HD 72" bucket...My dealer says he can trade for $5000...The TC 40D at $20,500 and give me $15,500 for the Kubota...Now I'm not complaining, because I didn't expect that much for the Kubota...I would be interested on a cost breakdown on the TC 40D if spencer200 would have the time...ie.

TC 40D w/hydrostatic drive
R4 tires
16LA Loader w/ HD 72" Bucket
Dealer Prep
Freight
etc...

Thanks for any input...

Well I can tell you this he is putting more money into your kubota b2400 than I would at my dealership that is a great deal.

Sounds to me like you are getting a great price on the TC40D. If you were to buy it with no trade-in, that $20,500 is a very, very good price. My TC45D is essentially the same setup as your tractor, but with one remote hydraulic adapter. I paid $21,900 with no trade-in and I am very happy with that price. With your trade-in of a 300 hr B2400 at $15,500, my guess is that your tractor looks nearly new. It sounds almost too good to be true. Are you buying any additional implements? I'd "ink" this deal really quickly and go away with a grin./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif Is the TC40D new? Wow! I still can't believe the deal you are getting./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

You should be signing papers instead of typing posts!

I have a question if it's not too personal. Why aren't you trading this Kubota 2400 in on another Kubota, say a L3710 or L4310? Is there something about the 2400 that you didn't like? What is there about the NH 40 that you like better than what a Kubota would have or offer? Just curious.

Well I finally got the chance to get face to face with my dealer and it went from a "GREAT DEAL" & "SOUNDS ALMOST TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE" to a big let down...Seems as though the price of $20,500 for the TC40D and the $5000 trade didn't include a loader on the TC40D...After going over all the options and adding the extras the trade offer came up to $8500...
Back to the drawing board...
Thanks for the input and to answer the question of NH vs Kubota, I have been very well pleased with my B2400, Loader & mmm. But after looking, test driving and reading for a few months at the Kubota, NH & JD, all of which have very good qualities, I really like NH TC40D for me. I think the 16LA loader is one of the best qualities, with the capacity and the joystick with dual power switch. I look forward to seeing the new Kubotas and do a little more testing, etc..but I really would rather be stirring up some dust on that TC40D than sitting here pecking out this post...
Thanks, I'll be watching....

Pappy,

The new deal may not be so bad. Look at it this way. /w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif The TC40D with loader for $20,500 and $12,000 for your trade. I just priced a new B2410 HSD with 60'MMM & FEL, Loaded R4's only four weeks ago and it was $16,100. In that perspective $12,000 may not be that bad of a price, especially if the $20,500 is decent price. It's a wholesale to wholesale comparison. He sells close to wholesale, but also trades close to wholesale. He has to make money somewhere. I figure retail for your set-up to be about $25,400 plus dealer prep. So going retail to retail, the TC40D would be discounted to $24,000 and your B2400 would be $15,500. He won't be able to sell your B2400 for $15,500. I think as others have put it, you had the deal of the century, but the current deal may not be bad at all. Visit another dealer and see how it compares.

I bought a TC40D last month for $19,400.00. FWD, 16LA, R-4, Wheel weights, grille guard and Rear work light. I added canopy($425), cutting edge ($125) and a 72" 918H mower($2865) The prices in the $20,500 range is the average BUT your dealer has room to move. I have good repoure with my dealer here in southern NJ. He admitted to me that he will need a few more hundred to do a deal like mine for my friends or refferrals.
You'll have no problem selling your Orange machine privately.
Cash talks. Your dealer should accept a smaller profit if all he has to do is sign papers and doesn't have to floor plan it!
By the way, this tractor is a pleasure to drive and exceeds all my expectations!
Good Luck!
