I recently bought a new Tundra and fully intended on getting a plastic insert liner. I wanted something that would protect from dents and damage when loading firewood, tools, etc.. But, then I did a lot of reading and was convinced to go with a spray-on. I'm happy with the choice so far. Also added a Dee Zee bed mat which I like a lot. Stops things from sliding, which is good and bad. It's nice that for the first time I can set something in the bed and not have it slide all around. But on the other hand, sometimes I want to slide something in, and on that bed mat it's not having it.

I will say that my parents have had trucks with plastic bed liners and they do warp and get out of shape over time. Things also get trapped between the bed and the liner. On my dad's current truck, there are holes in the bed liner in the front corners for access to some anchor points. There's so much dirt collected down in those holes, there are literally weeds coming up out of them.

Spray-on bed line when I first had it done. I had the dealership apply it. They use Turbo Liner.

Dee Zee mat, much thicker than I expected it to be. Extremely pleased with it.

I went with another slide in. Its easier around the property to be able to stack on the tailgate and slide forward rather than climbing into the bed to move everything. The bed is so high on the 2500 I'd rather limit trips in and out.

There's a convenience factor for install too. Didn't have to figure out how to get truck there to leave for a day then get back to pickup during business hours.

Where I work most of the guys buy extremely high end pickups, mostly three quarters and one tons. Only to use them for transportation not much work, Joe, my good friend just bought a 2018 dodge diesel one ton maxi cab 4 door dually $90,000 are you kidding me...Thats why I still run a older 03 Chevy 2500hd, for plowing and towing and plain old work, just had cab corners and inside, outside, rocker panels both sides $1150. But bed is starting to go over rear tires, was going to repair, but after changing a right hand brake light I'm not spending the money on the bed. Behind the plastic tail lights the inside metal is all but wiped out. Maybe updating to a newer bed should be in order. We have always used 3/4" plywood with rubber mat, on my 1988 gmc I threw some wood in and dented the bed, never again, wood and mat cured that problem. Reason we used a rubber mat, had a large piece of equipment go through the back window at a quick redlight quite a mess and was dangerous with sliding metal in the bed.
Back to the brake light bulb changout, had to drill screw heads, and then the metal spring nuts completely disintegrated. A common theme for me as the same exact time I was having trouble with my 1987 john deere 855 pto, wouldnt stay engaged and shutting off immediately. So behind the cover I go with five bolts, what kind of nuts is behind cover? Rusted spring clip nuts again...$37 later at Advanced Auto I duplicated all the hardware exactly on both vehicles. What a royal pain, the price of a older truck though.

Has anyone ever tried coating the inside of mudguards of tractors with spray bedliner, to coat it against chipping, as well as soundproofing the cab ?

The very abused spray on polyurethane bed liner on my dually is 16 years old and I can't believe how well it has held up, I wish the underside of the truck and frame had been coated with it at the same time.

The same company that makes the BedRug liners makes one like that but it only covers the floor and tailgate not up the sides:
BedTred Impact Bed Mat | Bed Liners & Mats - BedRug | Bedrug

They used to make a version that goes up the sides too but I don't see it on their website anymore. Here it is for sale somewhere else:
BedRug UTQ4SCK - BedTred Ultra Truck Bed Liner by BedRug - FREE SHIPPING!

Weird that they discontinued the BedTred liner. I have in my 2014 F150 and love it. Very durable, easy install, easy to clean and no issues with stuff sliding around. Wonder why they quit making it...

I went with the Line-X spray in bedliner when I bought my 2006 F150 new. Still looking great with loads of gravel, dirt, and general light abuse.

When I bought an 'unloader'
1/2 Ton Truck Bed Cargo Unloader

I needed to buy a smooth rubber mat to help the material slide. Highly recommend the combination because if you need something to slide you can throw in the mat. Otherwise the Line X does great.

Got the Rhino spray-in bed liner for my 2016 F150, and put a rubber mat on top. The spray in feels like sandpaper, and the rubber mat softens everything nicely. Great combination, because the rubber can take a great deal of abuse from things that could scratch the spray-in.
