BTW as far as "cornbread" When I was a youngster, and we all lived on my grandparents farm, one staple was cornbread and milk ( we was poor LOL)
That is when I prefer sweet cornbread to regular, even though I like it either way. I cant think of a meal that cornbread can't be eaten with??

No liquid fell, and the temp was 33 when I was feeding the horses, but the temp has been dropping, and sleet is falling here, along with light rain. With the temp already below freezing, I'm sure it will make for a wicked commute in the morning. I've already called my boss to say that I will be coming in later tomorrow.

Downed power lines, due to the ice is my biggest fear too. If we get such as that, we will be some of the last ones back on the grid, being so rural.

Didn't you say you loved potatoes in everything, recently?

I haven't checked, but I probably said I like potatoes with everything. Actually a Wendy's chili topped with onions and cheese and Biggie fries on the side ain't too bad together. However, I hate it that Sonic Drive-in seems to think they have to put tator tots in everything for filler. I don't like their breakfast burritos with tots.

I never heard of putting any sugar in cornbread, therefore never heard of "sweet cornbread" until I left home and once looked up a recipe for making cornbread that called for a tablespoonful of sugar. However, we made many a meal in the evening of nothing but cornbread in a glass of "sweet milk" as we referred to milk that hadn't soured or wasn't buttermilk. Since the house was not air-conditioned, when it was really hot, Mother would sometimes make a big pan of cornbread and we'd sit outside where it was cooler to eat cornbread and sweet milk. For dessert, put sugar, vanilla, a few ice cubes, and milk in a big mouth gallon jar, shake it up to mix it and pour ourselves a big glass of that vanilla milkshake.

PRon, We are making an electric Pressure Cooker of veggie chili now. The pot has a countdown and it will be done in 4 minutes (total 40). Potatoes are in it. We usually use cornbread but we are going to try some fat free croutons today.

In our cornbread we use applesauce instead of oil/butter and milk. For a desert, strawberries over cornbread is really good!

Lou, bring back the art and move the beer over so we can read the caption. Were those mermaid tails on the aliens??? Now thats an original!
