Bird, I think Denton got hit at least twice and I heard it was 3 times yesterday. 1st storm I was watching since it started near me (where I got the ,04 from) then it moved over Decatur on to Denton. So 1st was just "hail", 2nd was "Oh he77", third had to be "Oh *&^%:D

BTW, y'all where close to the last big one too:shocked: The one producing tornadoes!

I've been in the hospital in Wichita Falls for the last two days with pneumonia. I hate the care I have to show in the spring when my sinuses and COPD come together to make my life very complicated. THis pneumonia is a direct problem from my reduced lung capacity. One day of working the garden and breathing pollen/dust is all it took to get me on the path to pneumonia. My doctor said the CAT scan showed no pulmonary embolism or heart blockages. This is all COPD related to reduced lung capacity. I have to work on making my COPD better.

Yesterday, while I was in the hospital, my grandson was at a track meet in Ponder, TX just as the storm blew through. My wife was on HWY 380, on the way to pick him up. She watched the tornado cross the road in front of her. Luckily, she missed the baseball sized hail and was treated to a light show as the tornado caused two transformers to explode on the side of the highway. She and a bunch of other cars had to pull off the road because the rain/hail was too heavy to drive. When she got to Ponder, all the kids were huddled in the locker-room area out of the weather, but cars in the parking lot at the high school had busted windows from the big hail. If she had been 10 minutes earlier, she might have been in the middle of that mess. Luckily, it was drama for someone else and she and Scotty got home safely with no more issues. Wouldn't you know it? Sunset didn't get a drop of rain. . . nuttin'. Oh well, her tomatoes still look great and happy in our garden. I guess that's the lemonade to go along with the lemons.:)

Bird, watching news this morning, it looked like Denton all the way to Plano took a real beating. I hope Corinth escaped.

Daum Jim, hope you get rid of the "pa-monia" !! (what my daughter called it at 6) I have had it once and it was horrible, talk about drowning standing on shore!

Believe it or not, fresh, raw garlic helped me more than the breathing treatments, or I accepted it better? but it sure helped. Used a fresh clove as a lozenge. I m thankful I don't have airborne allergies. I read an article somewhere this morning that said pollen will be in near record counts this Spring:shocked:

Jim, I was watching the storm and the live coverage, you're wife and g-son sure did dodge a bullet, in that regard they where well blessed.

Get well buddy..

Thanks, Dennis. I sure was worried about you and everyone in the path of that storm. I'm happy that everyone escaped mostly unscathed. There were a few wind gusts in Wichita Falls, but that was all that happened there last night. A few miles sure makes a lot of difference.

Sorry to hear you've been in the hospital, Jim. I assume you're getting over it now? My wife has COPD and of course both of us have had the pneumonia vaccinations.

Yesterday afternoon and evening, the city's Code Red system called our telephone a couple of times saying to take cover, and the city's warning sirens sounded long and loud, but just a little dime sized hail and some rain was all we had. The NWS said the wind got as high as 82 mph at the Denton airport about 10 miles from here, but Corinth didn't have any wind to amount to more than a good breeze.

But I've spent the last two Wednesday nights in the hospital. Actually at the Sleep Institute in the Medical Arts Building with the Medical Center of Lewisville hospital. The first Wednesday night confirmed what I already knew, and that is that I have moderate to severe sleep apnea. The second Wednesday night was to start treatment or therapy with the CPAP, so we'll see how it goes.

This is the first year that I've been taking cetirizine (generic Zyrtec) for such allergies. I've not been bothered in the past by allergies enough to take any kind of medication.

We got 1/2 inch of rain. I was expecting lots more. Maybe tomorrow and Sunday. Luke and I are headed to Austin tonight. We move Rebecca into her new (to her) house tomorrow. Forecast says 40 % rain, so I reserved a 6x12 foot U haul enclosed trailer.

Jim,
Sorry to hear that. Guess you will need to wear dust masks in the spring from now on. I wear one when I am mowing grrass, unless it has just rained. Like this morning. I mowed today with just saftey glasses on.l

Jim, my wife was saying allot of her COPED patients have done well on meds, I am sure you take something.

Bird, At least you got it confirmed and figured out! Now you will be the only person I know with "forced induction". Now that you will be "turbo charged", you may make it on that mower clear down here:D

Yep, I'm on Advair, Montelukast(generic Singulair) and an Albuterol nebulizer as needed. I also take the Citirizine and Loratadine, both for allergies. You would think I'd be covered, but dust gets me everytime and I think oak pollen and mountain cedar are both rough on me.

BTW: Our geese have started returning nightly to our deer feeder. Maybe it will be an annual thing with them from now on.

My doctor put me on Montelukast. About 3 hours into sleep, my sinus would unload down my throat. I kept coughing. I took prescription Hydrocodone cough syrup that stopped the cough. When I ran out of Montelukast, I didn't refill it for a few days and realized I wasn't waking up coughing anymore. No more sinus drip. So no more Montelukast in this house for me.
hugs, Brandi
