For those in north Texas with gardens in, have you looked at Monday night's forecast?!?!?! Yesterday, was calling for a low Monday night of 37*. Now calling for a low of 33* and FROST! I am NOT amused!!! :pullinghair: :muttering:

Ain't it the truth!!! We don't have by a dozen tomato plants, but they still need to be covered. However, they can't be covered with something dark without a vent hole or they will cook in the heat insiis container. Gardenning really is a mddening hobby.

Scott, doesnt make sense? my garden is doing much better than last year so far,,,,,Now a possible freeze:shocked: in mid April:confused3:
Yeah, I really prepared the ground good too. Added garden soil, peat moss, mulch, black velvet, rototiller twice or three times, fertilized good. Maybe, I'm just used to my garden in Houston, everything grew like mad there! HS

Lou, with your good weather and rain, it seems the only way you can rub it is "in." Good for you! I hope you have a bumper crop of tasty treats from your garden. I'm green with envy.:)

Went to Blue Bonnet festival in Burnet. Festival gets bigger every year. Northern hill country looked dry for April. Wild flowers were thin along highways. Blue bonnets are thicker along my own CR. HS

Sure is nice, let me tell you:D No more that throwing on trailer and hauling to brush pile and unloading. I have even been clearing the yaupons out behind the house, just gotta grab them and pull out of ground. Great 1800 dollar investment...
I been working on my pens also,trying get them done,when I have time.View attachment 370255View attachment 370256

I'm letting a friend keep his 29 foot 5th wheel trailer here for awhile. So to make a good spot for it, I took out two 8 inch trees (elm and sweetgum) with my grapple today. Two saw cuts later and I was hauling all 4 pieces to the burn pile, including the stump. That grapple is the cat's meow.
hugs, Brandi

I can't get thru with fence long enough to start a garden. Looks like won't have one this year. I saw a fella couple weeks ago who had what had to be 50 - 75 of those blue cattle mineral tubs upside down over his plants. They seem to be healthy and growing good now.
