Oh well this was supposed to have a picture also but can't add it while editing...Hmmm

Anyway there are posts with holes showing spalling, craters where there wasn't penetration but with a circular stress crack running around the dent where it almost got knocked out, big cookie bite missing pieces with edges evidencing spalling which shows the direction of impact.

The pictured wire is not barbed, is pretty heavy gauge two strand twisted (galvenized with coating in good condition) and the places where it parted (I have 4 samples) was in the air, not where it could abrade against anything.

The deputy that investigated had previously been hired by the previous owner of this land to work cattle and do fencing. He is personally aware that the fence was in good shape when I bought the place and there was no shooting or SIMILAR damage evident. All the spalling and other evidence place the shooter in my neighbor's yard.

Everone is entitled to make up their own mind and I can't make anyone believe anything they don't want to believe, especially when I initially presented such poor pictures. So what do you think guys? Does this damage look consistent with what you know of cows eating t-posts and heavy gauge galvenized wire?

Oh yeah, another thing. the cattle owner came about dark Wed to investigate and he put aside the 5 t-post tops in a pile in my field, intending to have a better look the next day in daylight. Mysteriously they all dissapeared overnight!

Only three people knew where these posts were. The neighbor and his wife AND the catle owner. The cattle owner had no reason to remove evidence since he wasn't aware of the cause of the problem till the next day. I wonder who could have tresspassed and removed the evidence? Why would they do so?

The broken off posts showed evidence of being broken off in random directions like would happen if they were forced back and forth till they broke. If they were broken by being run over by cattle, given they were wired together, they would have leaned more or less in the same direction, don't you think? Don't be predjudiced by the fact that my neighbor and his wifes family have made suing for $ a cottage industry, including burning down a house for insurance (3 different structures) My neighbor is living quite comfortably on his retirement and disability money and workmens comp claims from yet another employer.

I fully suspected fowl play when I heard of the incident. I was not disapointed. The cattle owner says he thinks they were attempting fraud and or extortion and is not too happy with my neighbor.

Patrick:
That surely is a neatly " Rusted " hole with an interesting fracture running off to the side on the picture of the T post. Those clean consistent fracture angles are not way rust works.

The wire is also interesting. Repeated bending does not produce that type of fracture nor will wire rust in that manner.

Still think you should give him an old randy live bull.
