Thank you, that was our thoughts when we bought it. Our actual home is the one on the right, you can't really see it from the pictures.
We purchased the camp that is shown in the pictures just this year so we would have more property and some options when it comes time to retire. We figure we'll sell the big house and build a smaller one where that camp is. We were hoping to fix it up enough to seasonal rent it to pay the taxes but it is pretty rough. I'm a fairly good carpenter not a magician. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Your beach restoration project is beautiful, you did a great job.
I have an un-related question, I noticed the red roofing on your house, is that standard metal roofing or is it a product that can be used as siding as well as roofing? The reason I ask is that I have just received a bid to have my house re-roofed with metal and the bid was $20,000 for metal and around $9,000 for composition. I could not believe the $20,000. I want to go with metal but not if it is priced around the going price of gold. I would do it myself but I have a thing about heights and the main part of the house is two story with a real steep pitch.

The roofing is actually faded brown. The former owner did the roof about three years ago and I did not get a chance to ask where he got the product. I do believe it is roofing product, some of the metal roofing is real cheap some is very high. I would assume as this stuff practically faded throw in three years that is the cheapest available.
How large an area are you doing? Are there a lot of dormers? How steep? Many factors go into roofing pricing. Hard to say if thats fair with out some details.

We love this dock set-up. It is completely on wheels for moving in and out of the water. It also has a winch system for raising and lowering with out getting wet. Around here the lake level changes so fast your docks have to easily moved or you would lose them. And like you we have to remove them for the ice. I know you can not see it from the pictures but the dock is also set up for shore power for the electric hoist and boat. The boat has battery manitainers and a AC/DC refrigerator.)</font>
