Well I gave into temptation yesterday. The JD dealer had a 455 that just came in as a trade and they only wanted 2K for it. It needs a little work. Funny thing was I got a different story about the machines condition from the salesman, the service manager and finally from the mechanic who worked on it. I am hoping the mechanic knows what he is talking about. He said it was a good machine that needs a little work. So I was fully expecting a scolding when I confessed my sins to the CFO. She didn't say a thing. She even spoke to me today. Shoot looks like I messed up. I wonder what would have happened if I had brought home that really nice X585 I saw last week?

Really? an x455??? Hmmm. Too much orange kool-aid, maybe?

Please forward me any information/specs you have on an x455 - I have been selling Deere for quite some time now and I don't remember that unit at all, nor can I find any information in my Sales Archives.

Now if you are comparing a 455 with an X585... I still don't know if I agree with you - you lose the diesel, but gain 4WD. I guess it depends on what you want/need to do with it.

I have always thought that John Deere was screwed up with their numbering. Every time you turn around they are trying out a new system. I find it confusing.
I do love 4 wheel drive on my Yanmar 186D so I know that I would like it on my lawn tractor. Especially in the winter trying to snowblow up and around the S curve of my neighbors driveway. Plus I like the look of the hood on the older X models.
I am smiling every time I walk through the garage and see those two green machines parked out there.:D

Yeah but that X585 cost 3 times more. I'm not sure where the line is but I'm glad I didn't cross it! :D
