My 57 Chevy (first car!) had that. If you didn't put in lock on the ignition, you didn't even need a key. It was Lock, Off, On, Start.
A great car: 283 Auto, and Powerglide 2 speed auto. Don't think it had power steering, so all the power went to the Xmission.
Ron, the really old guy!

I know a guy that has one of the nicest original 57 Belair hard tops there is. He bought it new when we were in high school together and has kept it like that ever since.
Doubt that there are many if any like new original one owner 57 Chevys still around.
This isn't the only 57 Chevy he has.
He specializes in buying and restoring them.
Last I heard he had 6 or eight of them, A couple of them are convertibles.
Don't you wish you still had yours in this condition? It would be worth a mint.
Back in 1962 to1964
A friend of mine had a black 57 Chevy convertible with a white top and I had a black 1960 Chevy Impala convertible with a white top. Many times we both have wished that we'd kept them .
They were a real sharp looking pair together.
The 1971 Chevell convertible I bought new and the nice 49 chevy I got in 64 would have been keepers too.
Oh well I guess I will just have to settle for the 1950 Chevy and the 1969 Rambler American I do have.
