I just went out and tried the key in my new BX23 after reading your post.
I had to shut off the engine to remove the key.Couldn't get the key out with the motor running!

Wonder if they made a change between the BX 22 and the BX 23 or if your switch is defective?

My 57 Chevy (first car!) had that. If you didn't put in lock on the ignition, you didn't even need a key. It was Lock, Off, On, Start.

A great car: 283 Auto, and Powerglide 2 speed auto. Don't think it had power steering, so all the power went to the Xmission.

Ron, the really old guy!

I know a guy that has one of the nicest original 57 Belair hard tops there is. He bought it new when we were in high school together and has kept it like that ever since.
Doubt that there are many if any like new original one owner 57 Chevys still around.
This isn't the only 57 Chevy he has.
He specializes in buying and restoring them.
Last I heard he had 6 or eight of them, A couple of them are convertibles.

Don't you wish you still had yours in this condition? It would be worth a mint.
Back in 1962 to1964
A friend of mine had a black 57 Chevy convertible with a white top and I had a black 1960 Chevy Impala convertible with a white top. Many times we both have wished that we'd kept them .
They were a real sharp looking pair together.
The 1971 Chevell convertible I bought new and the nice 49 chevy I got in 64 would have been keepers too.
Oh well I guess I will just have to settle for the 1950 Chevy and the 1969 Rambler American I do have.

Junkman, I checked the key on my BX2200 and it will not pull out when the ignition is in the ON position. My tractor will be two years old in December.

Yes Junkman,
My key will come out when running(BX23). Luckily I haven't lost it yet. I have found it on the floorboard a time or two though.

Since there are two differing situations here, I am leaning to believe that there is a inherent defect in the ignition switch. I also have had to return mine from start to run occasionally since it wouldn't return on its own. Sent a e mail to the dealer asking him about it. Will wait till Wednesday and if I don't' get a reply, I will call Kubota and get a definitive answer from Tech Services. In the meantime, I would like to hear from others to see how many are the same. Mine has 145 hours on it, so it might be time related.

Junkman,
I've got 332 hours on mine and I believe that it has done it from the start. At least within the first fifty hours or so anyway. Keep us posted.

After reading this thread. I had to check the key in my B2910. It can only be removed when key is in off position.
