Ovrszd has a backhoe that I’m sure he would bring over if I asked real nice, but I’d rather just have someone come and fix it. I’ve already had enough fun digging around in my own **** the last week trying to fix it. And like I said I want it FIXED, not just working ok.

I'm sure Ovrszd would help . . . sounds like you may have to reach out to a larger community close to you?

Wish I壇 spent the extra 12K when I ordered the 7060 this summer!

THIS is just one of many reasons why I own an 11' dig Kubota L48 TLB.

Am I the only one who read the fourth sentence of the OP and thought....Beetlejuice! Maybe it’s haunted.

All kidding aside- bummer to hear. Sounds like it’s all happening at once. From what I’ve read above it looks like mostly good advice so far!

Maybe it’s the dead husband? Think maybe he’s upset I’m here? I feel like he would be more upset with her,,,,I scored, and she settled!

I feel for you JHurt. I think we bought the 2nd Money Pit ever sold. Our's turned out to have been started as an old hunter's cabin. After 6 or 8 'add-on's' it ended up being what was sold as a Fine 2900 sqft Country Home. Yeah, right.

We find weekly surprises such as light switches that go nowhere, roofs with no shingles, metal roofs that mysteriously starts leaking, chimney's that aren't sealed, rooms with no HVAC outlets nor electric outlets. Thanks to all of those and more surprises goes to the "inspector" that turned out to be the realtors son. His General Contractor License turned out to be a Driver's License - for real! His insurance turned out be be a bare minimum Liability Insurance policy for his pickup.

Let it be said, there are many downfalls to having to remotely buy a place based on published realtor's info. Not everybody tells the truth, or at best fails to disclose anything negative. Sure, we hate the problems, but on the other hand, we love the place. Located near a little town of 480, near a state medical center, and whoopee - only one signal light in town. We've grown calloused to surprises, and are continually developing handy-man skills. The good outweighs the bad, by far.

We view our stream of problems to that of buying a new vehicle. You buy it hoping for zero problems. But that's just not how it goes. Hang in there - eventually the problems such as your sewer system will fade into distant memories, replaced by new problems to resolve.

In WI, septics must be inspected prier to the sale of the property and at least every 3rd year during ownership. Would the local septic pumper know where the covers are? Or, were the tanks ever pumped?

No such regulation here! People still use lagoons, and even mine just drains into the pasture.

Probably not the best idea, from a health aspect.

We had a cinder block 'vault' with boards covering it at the farmhouse where I grew up. It went from there across driveway to open sewer on the other side.. Between the tree roots and whatnot, it needed work every few years... Pa finally put the outlet into drain pipe buried at least so the smell was gone, but it should have had the tank and whole system replaced.

My grandfather's house just exited into a ditch, which eventually ran into a pond, then the river. Supposedly it had a tank in the system, but I remember seeing toilet paper caught on the end of the outlet.
He told of putting trout in the brook about 1/2 mile downstream; so my friend and I tried it and sure enough, we caught a couple there. I couldn't bring myself to eat them though.
When my parents moved in the first thing they did was put in a proper septic.

Richard brought his backhoe over and dug the hole for the septic tank today. Supposed to be here around 10:00 tomorrow morning. Got a couple of pipes spanning the hole for the night. Going to run a little over 400ft if pipe to get it back behind the pond. Last couple of years the run off has played **** on our pond.

Tank installed, and 460 ft of pipe laid today! Still need to get all the dirt filled back in, but we were at least productive today. And I’m worn out! If my family had to depend on me to run a shovel for a living, we’d all be a lot skinnier! It’s been a great project, and after today I feel like we did it right! I like knowing what is going on from the house out now too! So many questions about what was happening before all of this.

That 'T" or whatever it is in the third picture looks like a good place for clogs.
I agree, IMO it would be better to dig that up to the other side of the fence and reset it up to use a sweep 45 elbow then a matching sweep 45 tee (with 2 clean out tees, one for each line).

The straight part of the T is the main sewer line and the part that is elbowed and ran to the T is just the kitchen sink drain so I don’t think it will be an issue. I have no idea why the kitchen sink has it’s own pipe, but it does. We found all kinds of interesting things. That’s what you get when you work on a 100 year old house that has been added on to multiple times, and has had multiple people cobble something together.
