I dont want to buy the biggest seller. I want to buy the best. Right now Fendt is the best, but they don’t sell 1/10th the tractors of the bigger sellers
I've been to Europe 9 times. Fendt is very large there.

I did notice the Fendt states "the world's finest" and not world's largest. I like that. :)
Fendt is the first tractor I saw with front 3pt. Very common and heavily used feature in Europe.

I view the whole concept of Green costs more as a prejudiced opinion. Yes, I can buy cheaper…. But having parts available, repair facilities, and other items for as long as I have my tractor (never mind the 3rd party aftermarket or the wonderful folks on this forum), the extra money is worth it. I don’t have the time - nor patience - to deal with these issues otherwise. Some do, yes…. But that’s there time and effort - not mine. So enjoy what you have and don’t worry about what others think or say.

And you are exactly right.
The higher price of John Deere isn’t all just a question of whether or not the tractor is better/worse than others. Its dealer support and presence. And that adds cost.

See way too many guys here get stuck on the machine ONLY.

They do not consider the convenience of parts and dealer availability when things go wrong.

Part of the reason for this is small/hobby tractor owners have more time available to them when something breaks. Commercial/AG owners do not.

That is why you see so much JD/CAT/CASE on commercial job sites. Need a part? It’s usually within a 20 mile drive or a one day wait.

Oh heck, I might as well spout off here also;
Yep green does cost more and I don't see much availability difference between red (IH) and green,
but I do see a significant price difference. Not on everything but it is surprising many times and every once in a while I have seen green be competitively priced to aftermarket. Just have to check before any and every purchase. This observation comes from parts chasing for the farm for over a dozen tractors with 2/3's being IH and a 1/3 being Deere with a single Kubota that only gets few hours a year running the bale wrapper and minor loader work.

Even with Case-IH and New Holland merging, I still have more John Deere presence, BUT CNH has probably the 2nd best dealer network so that’s still pretty good. I think CNH suffered a bit when they were bought out by FIAT. Deere still remains the same as they were 100 years ago. An American owned company that despite it’s ups & downs, remains stable & strong. Buyers like that.
Still also in the opinion that Deere’s are painted better and use better finishing process that makes them look better and creates higher resale value.

I remember one TBN’er downplaying the value of the quality of a paint job on trailers. I politely disagree. A completely rusted 5 year old trailer is not easy to sell and brings in less resale value than a painted one.

Then many of them complain about the quality of the machine, parts availability, dealer won't put them at the head of the line for repairs, etc, etc, etc.

Just remember that Kubota was junk orange stuff when they entered the US market decades ago.
So were Toyota and Honda in the 70's, or Kia and Hyundai in the 2000's. Common path, no surprise here. Kioti or Mahindra could be the future Deere and Kubota... or the next Yugo or Citroen.

A cab with no AC in summer is tough
True'dat. But maybe any Tier4 with DPF and no AC can be tough. My 3033r is open ROPS, no cab. But it is miserably hot in the summer, when compared to any older tractor I've owned.

I used to own a jd870. It was a fine tractor. Had it for 14 years. Reason i sold it was i needed to add a new power beyond kit and the part was no longer made. Tried to get it from several dealers……could not find part. So much for you can get parts forever.

anyways, i loved the tractor, and wanted to get a larger cabbed JD unit. The only reason i didnt buy one, was i went to my local JD Dealer ( same guy owns all 3 dealers in my area) and wanted to test drive a few different machines. The sales guys wouldnt give me the time of day. One told me i couldnt afford it. Seriously. This from the same dealership ive worked with for 14 years.

i went to local Kubota dealer and really liked the large cabbed unit on lot, but it was already sold. They had no new ones coming in anytime soon, and i needed tractor for winter.

went to look at local TYM AND Kioti dealer in town. He had no Kioti cabs on lot but had TYM 45 cabs in stock. I really liked the TYM, but i hated the cab layout for the remotes. They were behind me. Horrible location and played havoc with my neck issues.

Finally found a Kioti dealer about an hour away with last model years 45 cab model on lot with 5 hours on meter. They used it as demo model and to clear sales lot of snow. Got great cash sales price. Been great machine, next to no problems getting parts except for front axle when i spun a bearing. Covid played havoc with parts. There sitting in shipping containers with no one to deliver them.
i found parts 5 states away, and was up and running in a few days. Up until this time i had no issues getting parts.

i still like JD machines. In 1400 hours on my old one i had blown 2 front bearings that took out axle and the issue with power beyond. Overall was a great machine. It was a rebranded Yanmar as the yanmar sticker was all over the place. I wish i kept it when i bought the Kioti, as there are many times the open cab would have had better access than the cab.
