Haha. It's one of those new KUBOTA L3301 tractors. :laughing:
I added the text to the pics for our website so customers can see the Wicked beauties and know what tractor they're on when shopping!

I'll share a few Wicked Grapple reviews with you guys.
David from New York has a Wicked 55 Grapple on his John Deere 2032R.
"Stumbled across this company on Facebook, had always wanted a grapple but my Deere dealer kept telling me I couldn't do it with my 2013 2032R. After watching their videos I realized that I could and that was confirmed in a conversation with Travis from EA. Got the diverter valve, installed it on my tractor, and received my grapple several weeks later. Hands down the best attachment I own, I have been very rough with it and it has performed flawlessly. I would recommend this grapple or anything else sold by Travis and EA, they are a first rate company that delivers on their promises."
Steve from Wisconsin has a 66" Dual Lid Grapple on his Kubota L4060.
"I purchased this grapple earlier this spring and have used it many times. I use it mostly for moving brush and tree debris and also for uprooting buckthorn, honeysuckle, cedars, and other invasive vegetation. But I also cut up our old deck and stairs into 8x8' pieces in the spring and when the dumpster arrived I used the grapple to load the decking into a dumpster. An all day job was literally reduced to 1 hour of work. The sturdiness of the grapple is impressive. It's now my favorite implement!"

I easily made a path through green briar and small trees that left a tillable root free surface for planting grass. It will also make quick work of ripping out trees up to 4" by sticking the teeth under the root ball and curling the attachment. If you are concerned about single lid, don't be. I've yet to lose a load due to imbalance of the grapple lid. Good job EA."

I rather enjoy the pictures. Heck, I even sent them some of mine, and placed them on TBN, when I used the grapple I purchased from them. I honestly don't see why you have such an issue with it. It isn't like you are paying a membership fee to use this forum, and they are using up your space.

Of course I missed you guys and all the intelligent discussion about grapple selection so dropped back in to see what was up. Nothing but baby grapple pictures and Travis bumping the thread every few days if nobody else posts. Bad social media behavior but I guess he has to make a buck.
What is sad is that there used to be vigorous discussion and debate about grapple use that really did benefit TBN users trying to educate themselves regarding what type of grapple would best suit their needs. Travis has killed that debate by turning several threads into self serving infomercials. He even has opposing posts removed when those posts interfere with his commercial goals. Reading this thread to decide on which grapple to buy is like using car manufacturers ads as your only data points when purchasing a new vehicle. And, TBN has a specific forum for advertising so it’s unfortunate EA doesn’t play by the rules/guidelines that other paying TBN supporters do. Sad.
And, if you don’t read this post soon, Travis will have it removed too. Notice that the post you responded to has been removed.

First off - I am very glad you had a nice and safe trip. That is an experience that must have been incredible!
Secondly - Most of us here, and dare I say many of the folks on TBN actually enjoy these grapple visuals and discussions on the "Wicked" grapples from EA. (Just like the title of this thread clearly explains.) They are extremely valuable.
Thirdly - I think your wisdom and passion can now become EVEN more important and useful going forward and here is why: EA has now introduced its Wicked "Rake" style grapple. It is now a viable alternate choice within the EA family's line of grapple products. A number of us spent time yesterday discussing this on a FB forum where a potential grapple owner was struggling with which type to buy.
It may be useful to cuss and discuss the pros and cons of clam shell style vs the flat "L" bottom for those who are looking to make a purchase of a "Wicked Grapple". I am certain that there are going to be ideal cases for both types, and that most people would be happy with either unit even if it was not the perfect fit. Perhaps there is a vetting procedure to figure out which would be best? Would you have anything to add to a "T" chart on this one? I think this would be a value add for TBN members right? Ready, set, go!

Yes, I know EA introduced a rake or clamshell type grapple earlier this year. The notable thing about it is the weight. Although in general clamshell style grapples are really only useful for collecting brush, the weight does factor in for subcompacts and compacts with less than 1000lb lift capacity.
The MAJOR downside of a clamshell is that any stick or log that jambs in the hinge will stop the grapple from closing further. If you just need to pick up a single log at a time that is not a big deal but if you are trying to pick up a pile of logs or branches or a combination of types of debris, then the hinge jam will severely limit the size of the load you can secure. Same story with 4n1 buckets when used as grapples.
If you consider two piles of debris and load one with a standard "L" grapple and the other with a clamshell you'll see what I mean. The standard grapple pushes under and into the load and only when the grapple is full do you close the top jaw to hold the load in place. The load is actually resting on the fixed bottom tines so gravity is doing most of the work and the upper jaw simply keeps the load from falling out forwards. With a clamshell you load about the same way but as the bottom tines are very short, the load is held in place not by gravity but by compression of the upper jaw. All fine and dandy unless there is a log or branch in the debris pile that sticks out beyond the hinge. If it does, then NOTHING below that branch/log will be secured and will fall out of the clamshell as soon as you lift it. Been there, done that (with a 4n1).
Clamshells may or may not be better for simply collecting soft bramble type brush but they are definitely not as good as a standard grapple for collecting mixed material of different lengths. Main issue as described is that gravity is your friend with a standard grapple and is your enemy with a clamshell.
I'd get a clamshell if I really had a weak loader (think Kubota BX) but if my loader could lift close to or more than 1000lbs then the standard is more flexible.
