Ridgewalker, that's some great stuff to be given. I don't ever think I've seen a slotted moldboard though. Was that modified by your father or someone else? Those cultivators are great, but the first thing I did to mine was to replace most of the hardware and all of the sweeps. Does your father have any extra feet and other parts for it? Even if not, I'm sure you can find what you need on the open market. You'll have hours and hours of tinker-time fixin' up those plows.:)

Here's a video of an old Allis Chalmers slat moldboard working.

Well, I thought I was going to see the 2nd slotted moldboard I'd ever seen, but that wasn't the case. All I could see was the great job it was doing.:D Nice work!

Also, back more on topic, I saw some hawk-like birds on my property last evening when I was outside watching a thunderstorm build. There were four birds on the power lines about 500' from my house and too far to get a picture of any use. I noticed them because of thier color pattern when they flew and also their pointed wings. They looked like small redtail hawks when perched on the wires, but redtails don't normally travel in groups. I've also noticed that redtails prefer to sit atop telephone posts rather than on the wires.

After looking at the birds through my small hand-held telescope, I was discussing the birds and their features with my wife. She went inside and brought my much larger telescope on a tripod. With that, it was easy to see the birds close up and observe their coloring. A few pages into my Audubon Guide showed that they are Mississippi Kites. That's the first time I've seen them, but they are very striking and fun to watch as they swoop down to catch and eat bugs. According to Audubon, bugs are their primary food source. They travel in groups, and I hope this group stays around.

Here is a picture of a couple of our nice reptiles. These two guys are very tame. We call them our Front Door Pets. They can give you a scare when you expect anything that moves on the ground to be a Rattlesnake.

We had several visitors last weekend:

A couple of young deer were nosing around the trailer in the after noon and a eagle was eating dinner on the beach and then flew up to the top of one of our trees to watch the beach.
I didn't have the camera handy for the eagle!

We had a few tourists go by our beach this weekend.

We also had a couple of deer nosing around the trailer and one of the resident eagles had dinner in front of us.
