Rich,

The Woods GB65 lists for $1049 according to one quote I got. He then discounted it 30% for a price of $734. It's rated for my tractor HP. I liked the Woods one just a little better than the Landpride, but they are both good quality.

That tiller sounds real nice. That's on my wish list too...

Greg,

Well my project (this weekend) was to clear a wooded lot for my brother's girlfriend. (She did provide payment, but we gave her a very good price.) So after calls to about 10 dealers, I was able to find a Bush Hog SBX 650 locally and the dealer charged $586. The dealer said he discounted it $100 because the store is going to move its location in the near future...

I am happy with the SBX box. It is well built and probably just as good as the Land Pride, though I think the Woods is a better box. Anyway I needed it this weekend, the price was right, and I had trouble just finding a 5 1/2' box any stock regardless of brand (of the major brands) anywhere. (Which is why I called so many dealers.) Guess it is just an odd size to keep in stock.

After using it, I feel this was the right choice (size wise) since the 6' would just be too much box and the 5' would not have completely covered my tracks.

The dealer has one more like this in stock for anyone looking for a good buy on a 65" box... PM me if you are interested...

I would chime in as a former owner of 3 acres. The 34 would be a whole lot more machine that you would need....I'd go w/ the 26. I had a 27HP Kubota w/ R4s for mine, and it was way more than enough for grading driveways, mowing etc.. I don't have snow here...just lots of rain (outside Portland, ORE).

Best of luck on your purchase. I really like (and frankly prefer) some of the options on the NH tractors. Hope you're happy w/ yours.

Well, my little tractor has a whole 15 hours on it now. Had to have it serviced for a oil leak in the front, some kind of oil cooler in front of the radiator. I also noticed the front axle doesn't have enough oil in it. I will have to deal with that now. I guess it's up to the customer to go over these things, even though they are new, and look for problems.

Other than that it's been a good choice. R4 tires are a bit aggressive but a good choice for my needs, especially since I'm moving materials around and not using it for a finish mower.

I got the tractor stuck in some mud yesterday, but was able to use the FEL to lift the front and put some boards under the front wheels, then used the bucket to push myself backwards to some better ground. After that ordeal I noticed the 4WD wasn't engaged. Oops. I guess I only learn things the hard way. I won't make that mistake again. Good thing I got the 4WD though. It's worth it.

Fun machine overall. Looking at a post hole digger and also a front plow/dozer blade to get more use from the machine.

Wild -- Do you know about the differential lock pedal by your left heel? It might have saved you getting the boards out.

You might want to contact PineRidge, another northeast Ohioan. His tractor is a little bigger than yours, yours is a little bigger than mine (29, in red), but we're all 3 more or less neighbors. There are a few other guys on here from our corner of the world, too. Look around. Some might even have worked with your dealer.

I've been there. I grew up in Eastlake, went to undergrad school at KSU, have a cousin living in Chardon, sister in Solon, former wife's family was in Kent, etc. I toured the state in '03 and '04 looking for and try to gets pics of all the bicentennial barns, used to fish in the lakes around the area as a high school kid, almost took a principal job in Garfield district, been to the races at Neslon Ledges, stuff like that. If you love old SAABs there's a great boneyard north of Ravenna that specializes in them. Cleveland Road Auto, I think is the name of the place.

Sounds like you toured the area well. The bone yard is call Cleveland Rd. Auto. Have been there a few times for "parts". The towns you mentioned all rang a bell; worked in Solon, have a sister in Garrettsville, daughter in Ravenna/ Streetsboro; parents from Parma and East Side of Cleveland.
