Thinking of trading for a L3901

GaryS I tighten the lock nuts with a wrench. I tried hand tightening and the implement vibrations loosen it and it sways possibly getting into those new tires.

The tractor looks awesome now it needs some dirt on it!

Sway would only happen from the side links, so tighten the nuts there if you need -- but top link nuts don't need to be snugged down hard.

A good investment for these tractors are the telescopic side links -- they are about $175 from the Kubota dealer. That way you don't have to fuss with the turnbuckles and locking nuts on the side links.

The turn buckles arent bad IMO. Never had in issue with them in 10 years on my L3400. With them being to the OUTSIDE of the arms, they dont need to be loosened to take an implement off. Unlike the ones that are to the inside of the arms.

I dont like kubota toplinks. I bent mine the first year I think. The threaded portions of the link were just too small, and thread too fine for my liking. And you had to have just about NO pressure on it to even get it to turn, so I was always fiddling with the 3PH lever while getting it to turn.
The standard ones they sell at TSC are much better. And I think like $30-$40. Alot heavier, and turn alot better with a little load on them.

With that tractor and HP, you wouldnt have any issues if you decided to go to a 6' mower either

Looking good! I switched the Pat's off my old tractor and then placed them on my L3901. If that is no longer an option for you, I would suggest getting another set as it seemed as though it worked for you.

I also considered the telescopic arms as an add on as others have mentioned, however I decided against it as I do not believe it would provide much added benefit with the Pats. If you opt not to get the Pats, then I would get them.

In regard to the top link, I prefer the longer TSC one over the stock Kubota and needed it anyway due to the extended length created by the Pat's.

I have a HF Quick Hitch. Combine that with TnT & I only have to get off the seat for PTO or hydraulics when hitching up or dumping an impliment no matter how crooked it sits

TnT isn't cheap when you figure in the cost of the extra spools though.

I tried to take the old one off my massey but the side bolts had rusted into place and broke off. I need to buy a new set and see they sell them off this website. Is this a good place to buy or is there a better site? I see some say they replaced the side bolts with better hardware. I will do that this time to make it easier to remove in the future.

Seems as though the best going rate is $169 and some places you can get free shipping too. Do a Google search to see what is out there..

Carters are another alternative, somewhat cheaper and do not extend the lower links as they sit on top of the lower links. You do not need a longer top link.

Picked up the L3901 today from dealer in Harrisonburg, VA. Nice unit! It is a little lighter than my L3130. Initial impressions are good. Have to get it hooked to the bush hog and see how it handles. SSQA, Filled rears, LA525 loader, Landpride RB1672, R4 tires.

I bought a set of Pat's Easy Change for my L3901 from Rural King because they had a free shipping special going. Unfortunately it was missing the hardware kit. I've had good experiences with both Rural King and Greenwell so I'm sure they make it right. Switching attachments the old fashioned way is painful. I did pick up a longer top link from TSC.

After a few hours on the tractor I must have grabbed for the right handle a half a dozen times. I need to buy the right handle.

I'm on the fence about the telescopic side links. Once I get the Easy Change in place, I may not need to mess with the side links any more.

Telescopic links are useless with a quick hitch. With a QH & TnT I can hitch or drop an implement without getting off the tractor.

I also concur, the grab handle on the right fender is a borderline requirement. The handle part number is on here somewhere, holes are already there.
