The one thing I'll admit here. Too many threads - I can't keep everything straight.

oosik you are right!

To the OP you need to get what ever is allowing your transmission to pop out of gear. I really find it hard to believe with rear brakes locked it slides down a hill at such speeds, not doubting you for never been on any real steep grades.

As to the training I tell people watch youtube to learn how and how not. No reason a company could not have dvd with instructions and even put on line for all to view. Should be a low cost compared to what savings they would be to lives.

As to the fueling...well I got to thinking my comments were not PC so removed them. So in much kinder words, good thing the west was settled before the laws there were put in place or it might all be national forest. Which may be a good thing.

Oh, I agree and, not to 'push' my suggestion, I've learnt heaps from watching YouTube videos. It's just that "hands on" practical instruction goes so much further.

"Banned the topping off". Just curious. Cold you explain that one ? Does it mean your not allowed to fuel up ATV where your running them ? Or not allowed to haul spare fuel in the toy hauler ? Or ?

Once the nozzle clicks off filling a tank you cannot pull the handle to add any more fuel.

??? Sure you can, David. You just withdraw the nozzle a bit and you can add a bit more... which is what he was referring to as 'topping off' IOT attempt to reach a certain price.

You can also wait a few seconds for the foam to die down and put in more (diesel likes or liked to foam and when filling Dad's VW Rabbit back in the day you could fit most of a gallon more in once the foam went down.

No you can not, it is against the law, there is a fine if you do.

Back from camping... no idea this would be five pages. Thanks for all the advice, except from David, who seems the usual, low-T, knowitall who overcompensates because of tiny private parts.

To answer questions: filled tires, 3pt mower, bucket on front. Been on heavy farm equipment all my life. R1 tread.

Drove it to Deere, which is only 2 miles away. They shrugged their shoulders, said they could tear it all apart, but it would be a waste of time since the problem is so episodic. I might rig a lock/block like that on the 3pt hitch control, that when I'm in B it can't shift out. Normally it takes pressure, but there are times when in motion just a tiny touch of the finger can pop it into N.

I'm just going to keep it in 4wd all the time. Hate the extra wear, but when I want to stop, I want to stop.
