I'm sure you still do excellent work at your job. But I totally understand the "don't give a crap" stage. I struggled with that daily the last year I worked. :)

I’m getting short timers disease, although I don’t see retirement yet.

Now that part you have to get a mental grip on.

Retirement takes forever to come and goes overnight. :D

That picture a little ahead, but still no window trim on that window.
On original plans the MBR and Master bath was to be finished later after I moved in. I’m glad I decided to go ahead and finish it.
I ended up adding the deck later, although it was on my plans (never got covered per plans).
I also didn’t build chimney due to cost.

Here’s old boiler still taking up space in the basement.

I don't think there's anything more complicated than moving into an unfinished house. Did it in 1979. Was very stressful.

Richard that depends on what you are moving from. We built (general contractor) our house in '85. Had been renting and could not get an extension for a month. Ended up at wife's sister house for a month. Once we were there got more done because of no commute to the worksite, and actually had a better clue as to where things were. Only kitchen and bathrooms had flooring, no paint, no trim, no garage door(just plywood), no drapes on windows, etc

The plan was to have 2 bedrooms and bath finished, just not master then finish that after I moved in. It really wasn’t going to save me much money so I’m glad I went ahead and did it.
