Well, to make you feel better yet, I'll tell you about MY boo boo.
About 20 years ago I cut raked and square baled my meadow several times a year. Did it all myself with my Ford 3000. Not even any help for raking. I also had to keep my pastures shred and was working a full time job on top of it.
One Labor Day weekend I took a day of vacation and cut my hay on Friday, then shred all day Saturday. My nieces had come to see us so after shredding until dark I went in and played cards or something until late with my kids, wife and nieces. I got up early the next morning to fuel my tractor and I was completely exhausted, but had no choice but to start getting ready to rake and bale as soon as it was dry enough.
My farm truck was up on jack stands in my shop with the rear end out of it. It was on jackstands at all four corners with the rear bumper at the back door of the shop. In front of the truck was my car in the other end of the shop only a foot or two from the truck. My field fuel tank was in the back of the truck and the only way to fuel the tractor was to pull it right up within a few inches of the back of the truck so the hose would reach the tractor tank.
I fueled up the tractor and started it up and in my stupor of exhaustion put the tractor in a forward gear instead of reverse. I eased out the clutch and it went forward just enough to knock the truck off the jackstands. It fell forward into my car. Think about that; I used my tractor to knock my truck into my car...... Luckily it just barely clipped the front license plate on my car. The truck wasn't hurt and the tractor wasn't hurt. The floor of the shop probably took the worst of it, but I have yet to see any cracks in it.
Even though my family members were all asleep, half of them came running out to see what the noise was. I was very lucky that the only thing really hurt was my pride.
Things happen!
