I noticed I'm getting all the flack about having 3 tractors from the green owners.
;) If I sell my 3 kubotas and buy a JD 2305 and 2 JD x749s will that make all well?:D

Alright, could you please explain that statement?? My needs, and your needs and LBrown's needs are all different. *One bigger tractor is not suited for smaller jobs. A tractor for each specific application is better. And if you can swing a deal (some dealers call these multi-unit discounts) then I say got for it, because I would. Putting too many hours on one piece of equipment is not a good thing, for one you chew up your warranty hours too quick, and you will have some major work or even replacement costs sooner than expected.

Will
*Rite on = I don't have anything for a bigger tractor to do .
But I've been keeping the BXs busy.

Well, I have been doing some reading here. It appears to me that opened up a can of worms just by asking a question.. maybe I shouldn't have. I did make my decision on the X749 and am awaiting delivery.
Today I spent all day spreading 22 yards of top soil and digging up a berm on the other side of my property and then spreading that around the yard in low spots. I did all of this with a Bobcat Skid Loader. During all of this work it dawned on me, that I made the right choice. There is no way I could of done all that work with a loader in that amount of time, no way. I would still be working at it and putting tons of hours on the machine.
I am satisfied that I bought a machine for comfort not just to say that I bought a tractor with a FEL just because I thought I needed it and use it once a year. To me that is a huge waste of money, and to have 3... I don't know it just seems weird. I decided I would buy a skid loader and a mini excavator before I would buy 2 or 3 small sized tractors that are way under powered for my type of work that involves digging. Since all I need is for grass cutting and snow blowing.
Well that is my thoughts. Happy arguing.
oh yeah P.S. Shouldn't be calling people fools for enjoying the finer things in life. Maybe you should try it some time, and who knows you may like it. Also if I have the money to spend on this kind of tractor with everything I put on it, I would say that I am not a fool. Most fools I know don't have money at all!!

Looks to me that you are the perfect candidate to trade-in both BX1500s and get an X749! Clearly you can afford it and you'd be SO much happier with a 54" or 62" deck that can ALSO get you into tighter spots.

For all that X749 bashing, you are literally its target market. :)

I bet he only puts 15 hours a year on each machine. JC
Wrong :
I've put 1100 hundred hours on the bx23 in 4 years .
That's 275 hours per year.
I've put 36 hours on the used BX1500 since Nov.
I think that's more than 15 hours a year.
I know that the 51 hours I put on the new BX1500 since i got it in November is more than 15 hours per year.
I think U lost the bet!:D

Regarding 3 small, very similar tractors...You're right...It's absolutely weird...

Enjoy your X749, it's one heck of a nice tractor.

Also, you do know the guy has THREE tractors two of which are the same, right?
1*Assuming he paid $10K each for them,
2*I'm saying it would be of greater general value to keep the small one you need and purchase a larger one for $15K-$20K.
3**For example, if he needs a small mower and a backhoe, chances are he'd be better off keeping the small mower and getting one larger backhoe than having three tractors of the same size.
4*For example two, I think LB mentioned he and his wife mow at the same time.
5* Seems to me one larger tractor with a larger mower taking care of the open areas and one smaller tractor for the difficult spots would still be better.
6*And in this scenario, the X7xx would be an ideal tractor for the dedicated smaller work.]
````````````````
```````````````````
1*Using your figure of 10000 each that's 30000 for 3 tractors.
2*Keeping one smaller tractor at 10000 and purchasing a larger tractor that i don't need for 20000 is still 30000 and I've lost one tractor in the process.
3*Thing is this would cost as much or more for 2 tractors than I have in the 3 tractors.
4*That I did.
5*That's what I already have.
The Bx23 with the 60'' mmm is perfect for taking care of my open areas. No need for me to replace it with a larger 20000 tractor and mower.
The new BX1500 with the 48'' mmm is just the ticket for my tighter close in areas and is more than enough to handle that smaller work and has worked out very well for this for me.
6*Maybe for others but not in my case as I'd be paying almost twice as much for it as I have in the BX1500 to accomplish the same task while loosing a lot of functionality.
If I had the difficult terrain some of you do then it might make sense but since I don't I'd just be paying for a feature I have no use for.

Congrats on the purchase. I have a 445 and love it. The x7xx replaced it in a long sort of way. Its a great tractor for mowing!
