Somewhat related...
I like my G26, but was intrigued by the new release of the G43, a single stack 9mm, with much thinner profile. I hade the opportunity to hold one today, I will be leaving hints for the wife and kids that father's day is coming up. The downside of fewer rounds (7 vs 10 in the mag) is a compromise I'm willing to make, for ease of concealment and comfort when doing so. In a real-life 'shots fired' situation, one is not likely to need those last 3 shots, nor more than one. Real life isn't the movies, popping in mag after mag...

Along the same line, a Kahr PM9 (I have one) and S&W Shield (I don't have one, but have lusted after it) Are both also worth a look for a slimmer, easier to carry 9mm.
So sorry I have not updated this.....
At the hearing I had the psychologist who had done some testing on the bad guy testify. Testified what a risk he was.
However the Judge seemed to be making the point that the bad guy had not ever done anything violent to anyone yet.... so somehow that means he never will???????????
I thought for a minute the Judge was going to deny my petition.... however it was granted.
So the only thing I know about bad guy's car is that he drives a van. Sitting at home that night playing fetch with the dog (inside). I see a van pull in my driveway. Like most of us on this forum I live out in the middle of nowhere. So I go and fetch the Glock and go see who is in the driveway.
It was someone dropping some stuff off for some charity work the wife and I are involved with. For the record the lady dropping the stuff off is NOT a gun person.
Not pointed at her, but in my hand pointed at the ground. She still did not appreciate it.

I have talked to plenty of people at the door and they would never know I had a pistol in my hand.. Just always keep it behind your right leg with you finger out of the guard. They will never know or care. It is better that way.

Pretty much what James said, you will be prepared to deploy if needed and if not just slip it in your back pocket and wait for them to leave.
Personally I don't open the door and sure as heck don't go out to meet someone until I know who it is.

Be safe, Indiana has some really strange rules regarding child custody. You can sue for custody of children who aren't even your children in Indiana.
Well thankfully it has been a week or so and nothing further from this loon. I still fully expect to get some sort of official complaint through the bar association or something. He has sued and complained about every professional involved in the case so far.
Thankfully the statute under which the Judge appointed me gives me some immunity so that is good.
In any event I do get to blow off steam now by going to the firing range from time to time.
To our west is vacant land. Got to "meet" the owners via text and phone call. They have the land for sale and there were kids partying out there. Not approved by the land owners. So county mounties out and about last night.

My Dad had a guy rush him in his office with a knife after a nasty settlement. Dad kept the desk between them and managed to slip out and bar the door behind him.
