I just saw this from the NRA...
NRA-ILA | Ohio: NICS Compliant Standard Now Recognized for All Valid Ohio Concealed Handgun License Holders
From what I gather, it means that if I buy a firearm from an FFL dealer in OH, I can just show my CCW permit and forego them having to call in the info on the form.
That's how I read it too. I wish we had that here. Even with a CCW we still have to have the NICS check when purchasing a firearm. It doesn't make a lot of sense as the CCW check is more inclusive than the NICS check. And it would speed up firearm purchasing a bit. Not that it normally takes that long, (usually 5 minutes) but would be handy when the NICS system is down or backlogged. Which can and does happen.
