This one I learned from a friend when I bought a car from him and he had a couple airline barf bags in the glove box. He kept them there due to the 10 second gap between a kid saying "I don't feel good" and throwing up in the car. I took a couple from a few flights and have kept them in the glove box of our cars ever since. Although, I have upgraded to some of the newer ones from the hospital. Anytime a kid or grandkid, or anyone else says "I don't feel good" they get one handed to them. Has saved some car cleaning!

My niece has two kids. She got a brand new Chevy Suburban and one of her kids wasn’t feeling good “are you going to barf?”. “NO!”. “Are you sure?” “YES”. She could have used a barf bag, I don’t think she had 10 miles on it yet.

When I change oil in vehicles I dump the new oil in the engine, put the lid back on the container, and the find a place under the hood to place it upside down for a couple minutes. This gets most of the residual oil down to the cap and then I dump it in the engine. Not a large amount but I figure it’s better in my engine than in the landfill.
I grew up (from age 5 to 12) across from a small friendly Texaco gas station in a small town. We would routinely go over there and gather the "empties" and drain the last drop out of them, with the stations approval. To this day I routinely "drip drain" oil containers.

A chain and bar oil tip that has save me is...
Instead of removing the entire plastic thing from the mouth of the container, put a vertical slit inline with the pour handle. Pouring it is MUCH easier to control that way. I hope that makes sense.
For anti-freeze I pour from the side. I put one small slit for air at the top and a larger slit at the bottom for a controlled no splash pour:

Seen here is cool temp oil which we've already switched to this fall. The summer oil comes in a orange jug. Who doesn't swtich to cooler oil in the fall?

I have switched to the grey bottles of Stihl bar and chain oil. Not temperature dependent. (but yes I used to switch between the orange and blue bootles.) Jon

The absolute best advice I could give anyone is: Ask for help. Even if you don't think you need help, ask anyway. You might find that you actually do need help. And if you don't, you'll make the person you ask feel needed and helpful.

Before the internet we all did this all the time... now we have the world's collective knowledge at our fingertips. Which is great BUT - we lost the human touch. SO yeah - Ask somebody. (y)

Growing up we had a family friend that ran a gas station / repair shop...the man had made a "tree" that would hold a a couple dozen quart sized oil cans (before plastic bottles)...on angled plates connected to a 6" dia. pipe that was necked down and attached to the top of a carboy with a tap at the bottom...He did quite a few oil changes a week...and would use the oil from the carboy whenever he could...

Is there still a market for hard copy encyclopedias ?...used to spend a lot of time at the local library...especially before we got both a set of Encyclopedia Britannica and World Book...!

Not the exact one I have but these are handy. The light follows where you look and you can tilt it up and down to point where you want.
