just noticed this morning that my front tires 23 8.50 14 are Titans and the rear 12/4/16 are Good Year same company ? Is this common to have 2 different names? also the back are in OK shape, although they are plugged a number of times and has a tube in one because of a large gash . The fronts are pretty well worn measuring from the ground they are somewhere around 22 to 22 1/2 a new one I checked was 23. ? Can I just replace the fronts or is this not a good Idea with a 4WD Hydro on a B7800 ?

I have a B7800 and it came new with R4 Goodyear's on the rear and R4 Titan's on the front. I don't think Titan and Goodyear are the same company. My Titans on the front are wearing a lot more quickly than the rear Goodyear's. I don't know if this is do to the brand of tire or if 4WD tractors have higher tire wear in the front. I wouldn't hesitate to replace my front ones when the time comes.

Titan bought out Goodyear's ag division. Titan has been around a LONG time.

Read about them here:

Titan International | America's Best Since 1898

As to the fronts wearing faster than the rears, its for two reasons. First, they do more revolutions per travel than the rears so they have more wear even when in 2X4. Second, 4X4 tractors are built with a lead in the front. In other words, the front tires are pulling at a little faster rate than the rears so in 4X4 they are always spinning just a little.

Thanks for the reply bikerdib. The front tires spinning faster is the difference. I have seen some posts on Titan tires. They seem to be a good brand from what I have read.

It is not unusual to have different brands front to back. I need new tires on the front of my L5030. The front are Titan and rear Goodyear. When we put new tires on our CX80, no one had the same brand for a full set, so we got Micheln and Firestone.

Same here .... with essentially the same tractor (B2910) and tires ... the rears look great, the fronts are getting pretty worn down ..... not much tread left (1130 hours on them)
