I guess that's why I would be unfit for service. In my mind, things are unravelling. At least here in Canada, and it both disturbs me and saddens me a great deal.
It's my belief that a stable/safe society starts with each individual. When the individual thinks it's everyone else's responsibility to fix things with no effort from himself society fails.
That is the change I see now. Everyone wants someone else to do the dirty work for them.
I saw this firsthand in Iraq. When you allow the enemy to dig a hole in the road in front of your house, bury an IED, then hide behind your fence waiting to explode it you have degraded into chaos. When you allow people with radical beliefs to mingle within your society you have again degraded into chaos.
It's my personal responsibility to be aware and conscious of things and people around me. And to make it clear that I will not tolerate that radical behavior.
