Too good to be true?

If I were you I would put cash in an envelope and send it to them immediately before someone else does.

No offense intended, but why would you even entertain the idea you could pick that machine up for $15,000? Ridiculous.

FBM can be a good place to buy and sell stuff, but this is certainly not such a thing. Usually, a real item will have multiple photos, and a location to inspect. Move on.

why anyone even considers buying online is beyond me
Gotta do your due diligence and at a certain price either go see it in person or have a trusted 3rd party check it for you. It’s 2025 you know? For the right price the continent is your marketplace, not just the next county over.

that is if you can inspect the tractor personally and arrange shipping.
yup it's '25, buying amazon is one thing, to make a virtual tractor investment is quite another.... to buy outright virtually is asking for trouble imho

That is a picture of a KX-057-4... LOL

That’s what I thought too. I couldn’t zoom in the cover clear enough to be sure but it looks like a 5.

Please comment only if you’ve had direct experience with this type of Facebook marketplace ad. They say that their prices are low because they are brokering repo machines. Of course, they want a wire transfer.

In my experience never buy anything from an ad in facebook!! And wire transfer sounds VERY sketchy!!

Its always fun when you ask where it is and they give a general location. Then you say, great, im in that area in a few days for a meeting, can i come and see it.

Then dead air

Not just on Facebook, either. Craigslist has had an ad running for a very nice JD Gator, "estate sale" for only $1,500, this model is worth about four times that, minimum.

"Seller" requested direct e-mails, not via C/L mail because of "trouble with C/L e-mail", then wanted wire transfer and said they would deliver it to me. (Allegedly in Orlando, I'm near Daytona.)

Reported the scam to C/L, it went away for a few days but is back, and continues to run on C/L in other areas. (Unless there are a lot of JD Gators in a lot of estate sales . . . ummm, I kinda doubt it.)

Deals that are too good to be true are too good to be true.

That said, there ARE some very good deals "out there", but 99% of the time, you went looking for them, they didn't come to you, or you got very lucky and were in the right place at the right time. Good deals do not arrive over the internet.

Best Regards,
Mike/Florida

I have a worthless check from a buyer. I guarantee this is a scam. They operate both buying and selling.

Obviously the scams work sometimes or they would stop doing it.
