Tiller too much tiller?

Bird - The linkage that controls all that is adjustable, so you could adjust it so all the way down is at 0, if you wanted to go to the trouble. If you mess with it, just make sure you don't adjust it so it's always under load when you raise the control all the way up.

Since it's working well as is, I probably won't mess with it, unless . . .. Can it be adjusted so it's all the way down at 0 and all the way up at 8, with no load, so that small increments of movement on the lever result in smaller increments of movement of the 3-point? In other words, so that a quarter inch movement of the lever would move the 3-point less than it does now.

I don't know too much about the B-series, but I don't think you can do that. That would be too useful.

That's just what I was thinking, and the reason I'll probably just leave it alone./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Bird;my 2710's 3pt,if lowered all the way with no weight on it will start to lift at about #3 on the lever.I called my dealer-(Carver equipment)and their kubota rep. just happened to be hanging out with the mechanics and he said its perfectly normal for this to be the case.I,as you do,would like the 3 pt to start at 0 and stop at 8-maybe in "tractor heaven" thats how it works-for now i'll settle for "perfectly normal" and leave it as is.Hey,all the implements work just fine so far-and how does that expression go ?-"if it ain't broke don't fix it".Take care,Dan.

Yes, at that speed it chews everything right up. How about 2100 rpm? Does that sound about right? At least I know someone is reading this post.

Well, see, I knew you'd read it again sometime later, and if no one had asked you about it, you'd get discouraged that it hadn't been read and stop contributing. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Besides, on the off chance that you were turning those kinds of rpms, I wanted to know how you managed it. I'm always game for performance improvements... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I was at an auction today and happened to see a 50" agric tiller. Thought I'd come home and find information like specs , and dealer location on the net, but no luck. If you have anything like an address, I would appreciate it.
Thanks Bud

Bud - Try World Agritech Corporation, 513-734-4317. They're the importers. I don't remember where they are, but that should get you there. Let me know what you find out.

Thanks for the phone number. The fellow at the other end gave me a phone number for a dealer about 45 miles from my home. All he handeled was large tillers, so I went to a Tractor Supply about 65 miles in the other direction and bought a 54" tiller that was supposed to be a Caroni. While I was at the dealer I saw a 72" King Kutter tiller with the exact same gear box on the top of it as the Caroni. Now don't get me mixed up. When I took the papers off of the tiller, they was together like they was glued. I called Dave at Tractor Supply, he said he would call World Agritech Corp. and have them send new instructions to my home. I noticed this evening that the cover over the chain has a big WAC stamped in it. All I have to do is figure out what kind of a tiller I have. One thing has me confused, It has no slip clutch, and I don't see a shear pin. I think I should have one or the other. What now?
