Montana 4340C w/Loader, JD GX345 w/54in. mower
Has anyone every built or bought a toolbox for there cab tractor. I was thinking of building or buying a box of some sort and putting it on top of one of the fenders inside the cab for tools extra pins and that sort. Maybe even put a little cooler on the opposite side. Pictures please if anyone had done this.

Hello, I use one of the cotton tool bags and have spare pins, sloves, flashlight and a few tools in it that I keep on top of one of the fenders.

I will be interested to hear what others have done.

Probably 15 # of stuff in a canvas tool bag behind the seat in 5740 C, tools ,pins, what have you. Whatever you broke is in the work truck on the other end of the field. Don't put even a light toolbox or bag on the fender next to you, the tractor is going to tip unexpectadly(?) at some point, and throw the bag into your shoulder, just when you least need to be distracted. Sidey

or you could buy the 70hp version of montana cab aka tym and it comes with a small toolbox behind the seat and a little fridge on the left side facing forward. it will also keep items warm as well

mytym - I wish I could afford the 70hp montana but it took everything I had and some for the next few years to get the 4340C but I am happy with my decision. I do like the features in that tractor though.

brushtamers & networkmd - I do have a canvas bag that my dealer gave me with a few tools in it and I do have that behind the seat. It is just that it still slides around and I would rather have a toolbox that is more permanet and a little larger. My solution so far is an old ammo box that fits on the fender perfectly. I am going to clean it up and paint it and use some velcro to keep it in place.

My only problem so far is that I have no place to put a chain without dragging it in and out of the cab which it ends up laying on the floor under your feet and is a real pain and possibly dangerous if it gets under a pedal. And I can't find a good place on the outside to mount anything. Any ideas would be greatful.

There is enough room to attach a small toolbox on the front bumper to hold a chain. You will not be able to use your front bumper to remove trees, stumps and fence post anymore though.

There have been a few guys here that have hose clamped 4" plastic pipe with a cap on the bottom to the loader mount. Clean and easy. Probably something that I should do myself. Drop the chain in and hook the hook on the top edge, chain is stored safely and is easy to get when needed. Not sure if that will work for you, just a thought.;)
