ups girl just delivered a tooth bar i bought of ebay. price was to good to pass on, less than parts and weld one up myself. i planned on having to widen it, but, it is within 5/8 of an inch of fitting perfectly. question is should i cut and weld in a spacer in the middle like i planned or just shim the sides, bolt it on, and go. thanks in advance.

Shim it out and go for it! The holes you drill will remain in the same position if you decide to add the additional 5/8". Just use some good quality bolts and you should be OK either way.

Yep, like the other guys said, just shim with a couple of washer on either end.

thanks for the replys guys and confirming my thoughts. this was a bargain for a never used bar. on purchasing i planned on making just right but on inspection it seemed like a waste of time. now lets go dig something up.
