ups girl just delivered a tooth bar i bought of ebay. price was to good to pass on, less than parts and weld one up myself. i planned on having to widen it, but, it is within 5/8 of an inch of fitting perfectly. question is should i cut and weld in a spacer in the middle like i planned or just shim the sides, bolt it on, and go. thanks in advance.

Shim the sides with washers........ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Shim it out and go for it! The holes you drill will remain in the same position if you decide to add the additional 5/8". Just use some good quality bolts and you should be OK either way.

Yep, like the other guys said, just shim with a couple of washer on either end.

thanks for the replys guys and confirming my thoughts. this was a bargain for a never used bar. on purchasing i planned on making just right but on inspection it seemed like a waste of time. now lets go dig something up.
