Hi guys. Need some help here. Bent my top link on B2650 and got a new one. It seems a lot shorter than bent one. They told me the same one fit the B series as fit the BX series. I figured the B series had heavier and longer top link. Anyone know for sure? Research I have done on Kubota seems to show different top links for B and BX. Need some help please. HJT

First of all, Kubota brand top links are ridiculously expensive.

Consider going to a local Tractor Supply or other discount tractor place and buy an aftermarket one for 1/3 the price. They can even be purchased online from a place like AgriSupply or even eBay. There are various lengths available.

As far as the B vs. BX top length difference, they both use CAT 1 so are the same. However, some smaller BXs may use CAT 0 which are lighter weight.

Agree with gwdixon...Measure the extended and retracted length of your existing link and get a 3rd party one that fits those dimensions from TSC, etc.

The Kubota part numbers are different for each of your tractors, so your Kubota guy is, well. :confused2:

The B models are about 18" collapsed and the Bxs are about 15". The only real problem with getting a 3rd party top link is that you will need to grind the tractor end down to
1 9/16" from the 1 3/4" std width cat 1 size. Curious as to what you paid for what you got, $150??? Go here and get one and take the Kubota top link back. Waaaaaaaay to much money for what you get. Put the new one in a vise and grind off 3/32" off each side of one end and you will be good to go. :cool2:

They replaced the bent one for free. It's just that it looked shorter than the original one I bent. This one is about 14" for the center cylinder and expands to about 25". I have an extra that I bought from TSC for about $25+- and ground the end to fit in the hookup. It is about 16"cylinder and expands to about 30". Was just curious if BX and B used same one, as dealer told me they were same. HJT

Well, you BX uses part # K2581-38402 and your B uses part # 6C200-65400. I know that I build different top link working lengths for the BX and B models. I think that they gave you what they had in stock and figured that it would work.

Do what you need to do to have it work properly for you. If what they gave you works for you, then great, you're all set.
