Tracking mud into shop....what to do?

Yes - 5030. That's what I was thinking. A big 'ol industrial grade push broom. I should be so lucky to have a shed with floor to worry about a little tracked in dirt & mud. Geeezzz....... I'm just happy to have a big covered carport stall.

I have the same type of clay, Pressure washer not much help. I have found it best to park the tractor for a day and let the goo dry a bit, crumbles right out of the tires next time you move the tractor... Both r1 and r4 tread

My stuff turns to a kind as I describe it, 'adobe' kind of orange/tan concrete after being cooked under a brush pile fire.

Makes the best ball and burlap dug trees. It holds moisture like nothing else and the dense clay really helps avoid root disturbance, 'makes clean cuts on tree roots' when dug. Alfalfa and clover loves it too....

It took a while but eventually I figured out it's just easier to keep the dirt out of the shop to begin with than to remove it later on. Dried mud breaks down into two components: clumps and dust. As many have noted the clumps are easy to sweep but the dust is another story. It goes everywhere and eventually forces a dedicated "cleaning day", particularly if you have other stuff you want to be clean in the same space.

So, if I just had to be out in the mud, the equipment got hosed down with water before going back in the shop. Took some extra time, but worth in the long run. YMMV.
