Has anyone ever heard of a Trackless Snowblower or used one ? A friend of mind has a 70" that mounts on a cat I hitch . It looks very heavy duty . It is about 20 years old and has a total time of about 2 hours use .Yes , I said two hours .The paint is not even worn off the flights and augers yet . He would like to get $2000 for it . I am interested but unsure about parts being avalible . I would appreciate any input .

Trackless is a Canadian built articulating tractor/tool carrier. Typically used by municipalities. I believe they do/did make many of the attachments for it. They are very good units. And they are still being made.

Hey bigal,
Define "trackless" for us. Give us some more info on this unit. Do you mean it just mounts on the back 3PH and runs off the PTO? Or does this snowblower mount on a sub frame and faces the front? Who made the snow blower? Let us know. Got any pictures you can post??

Hey, by the way...is your username Big Al or Bi Gal?? Just wondering. Don't beat me up too much, Mr. Moderators...!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The Brand Name is Trackless . It is a 3ph mount . I don't have pictures yet . I go by Big Al ,but I have been called alot worst . It box measures 70 inches across and is about 36 inches high with two sets of flights or augers . The chute rotation and angle are hyd. controlled . I think I can pick it up for around $1400. because of the age . If the parts are still avalible then I think I will go for it . It reminds me of the big SnowBlast I use to run for the State except on a smaller scale . Thanks again,
Big Al

Bigal, If you will get me a model number I will call Trackless. The company I work for sells these to municipalties. They are a very unique machine, very stable.

Yes ,that is very close except it is 3ph . The blower unit looks to be the same . I will see if the owner has a Model number as the plate on the machine no longer shows the model . It has just faded away . It does still have the serial Number .
Thanks again, Big Al

BigAl:

Blowers are not rocket science. You can get drive parts and chains at any farm or machinery outlet. Buy it.

I think I am glad it's Big Al and not Bi Gal. Bi Gal might be "fun". /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
