No this is a Prima 840 S, 40 hp. Basically it's the same except for the color. They used to make them in the ex "Tomo Vinkovic" factory, but after she went out of buisness they divided it and now works as 2 separate factories; Prima TT and Hittner d.o.o. Original concept is the same

It's hard to tell it's not made by Geith or another heavy equipment bucket company.

"Welding a larger bucket...it's 20 % larger then the last one. "

Hello BF, congrats on getting that marvelous hoe working well enough to want to make it better.

I'm wondering how you decided on the shape of that compound curve for the back of the bucket?

THere are a lot of commercial buckets available with subtly differnt shapes to the buckets. My experience is that in our area a wider shallower one moves our dirt much more effectively than a narrow deeper bucket even if both move the same volume per scoop. I think the shape that works best may be a local thing and depends on the character of the soil. Our local soil is very sandy with much gravel and not much loam or clay. So it's not a very cohesive soil. A bucket that is narrow & deep bucket tends to cause the sides of the trench to fall in - even a trench only one bucketload deep. I guess that theoretically it should come to the same thing...but in the real world the larger bucket works faster and easier too.

Then there's the interesting problem of the shape of that complex curve formed by the back of the bucket. That seems to be a much more complicated shape to think about. Do you agree?

Oh...and I'm curious. Did you form the bucket's back by pre-bending the plate cold on a bending brake..... or by heating and forcing it into shape?

We also have some gravel and sand in the soil so it's not to hard to dig. The back plate is cold rolled with large rollers and then assembled. I think it's most important to keep a short distance between the first bucket pin and cutting edge. That's where you get or lose the digging force and not because of the depth of a bucket.

Maybe you should post her silhouette with your's. That way, your thread count would go viral. :)

Just kidding, but she must be a keeper to let you have all that "Man" time in the shop. Give her our regards and thanks for showing us your new bucket.
