Buying Advice tractor choice

I looked at a different group of tractors. Mainly based on HP. Kubota L3200DT & L3800DL & L3800HST; Massey Ferguson 2605 and a Mahindra 4025. All were 4x4 w/FEL. Ended up with a MF2605 mainly due to price and FEL specs. The FEL had more capability. MF had a special of 1500 off (or 0 interest) and a free FEL. It cost me a MF 135 diesel w/-1600hrs and $12,500. I actually started out thinking I would get a L32 or L39HST as I had rented a L3200HST for a day and it worked well. But after comparing the specs, decided on the MF. I know some say the HST is the cats meow but decided that I would not be doing a lot of forward and backward and did not want the extra expense of purchase and maintenance of HST.

i would say go with gear as well i did alot of tillage work with a gear tractor i wouldnt want it any other way with gear you can keep the RPMs up with hydro the tractor RPM will all but be at adle when you try to move front and buy a tractor one size bigger then you need been there done that i went from an L3800 TO an 7040SU what a different AND like Triple R said get a GEAR DRIVE TRACTOR

Where are you located? That would be too high here. L4400 gear drive with loader is around 22-23K Nice tractor though!

I went from a 2 stage clutch gear drive to hydrostatic. I will never go back to a gear.

I personally do not like HST, at all. Nothing wrong with hydro, just can't stand them.

Gear drive w/two stage clutch is what I prefer.

finally deliverd yesterday.all seems good havent used much yet but the hydro is terific for using the loader.
