Here's a 54 year old soil ripper back when they were providing implements in "packages".

It's converted to a 3 pt in this picture on my JD 4010.

Also called a cultivator isn't it? Really cool looking iron work. John

The newer ones that kinda look like this are called cultivators. Think they're much lighter and won't go into the soil too deeply. This thing is heavy enough that it'll sink as deep as the tractor can pull it. The 2" bar is solid steel. Each tine is on a (think its cast) steel spring that has about 3 or 4 loops on it. Hanging out the back, it's more noticeable in terms of putting side force on the tractor than my 400# bush hog does (running on the trail wheel).

I posted a few pictures of my forks, a 3-row disk bedder, and fuel tank in the photo gallery. Everything else is jumbled up under sheds right now.
