tractor logging winch

This thing is fantastic. I'm concerned about the rate of travel during retrieval. Fast. Does anyone lower tractor rpm to reduce retrieval speed?
With the winch lowered it doesn't appear to put any stress on the tractor so I feel pretty safe of negative impact on my machine.
Man this thing hauls.
