Tractor lots are full

I don't know which tractor you're talking about, but many yanmars were brought into the US as having been reconditioned after having been used overseas. Given the age and parts availability of some of those tractors, I'm not sure I'd want to buy into a project with one of them. Doubt they would have much resale value.

I bought a used Yanmar 226d with low hours with a box blade and rotary cutter from a Yanmar dealer 30+ years ago for something like $5,500. I am still using this equipment. The 226d just turned over 1,000 hours with very few issues over the years.

Today, I was quoted $2,500 to pickup my Mahindra 3525 and replace two brake shaft seals.

I don't think my money buys as much today as it used to.

It's definitely not Yanmar green, more an electric lime.

The gray market imports had some funky colors. The official US imports were black and red.

The seller must be pretty insistent on price, because it seems like for ~$1.5k - $2k this would at least be a fun project.

You could check Hoye and Fredricks Equipment to see what parts are available and what they cost. But watch out for shipping costs. I like operating tractors. I don't like working on them.

I have a couple pieces of equipment I borrowed money to buy 2&1/2 years ago at 3.5-4%.
I hate borrowing money, but at 3.5% I’m feeling pretty good.
Plus since I borrowed (and used plenty of my own money) years ago, those dollars were worth much more back then. Those same dollars today are probably worth 15% less and prices on new & used farming equipment have risen.

My wife and I are putting some upgrades into our home of 15 years. New roof was paid for by insurance, driveway, painting, interior upgrades. We are going to sell and pray we make a great deal of profit. I plan to rent until the market collapses or war breaks out-further crushing our stagnant economy, then buy a new property at below market value.

We are screwed from so many directions. Inflation, high interest rates, impending war, 30+ trillion in debt, onerous regulations, high commodity, energy and food prices, socio-economic unrest…

A blanket statement like the OP makes implies tractor lots all full everywhere and that is far from the truth. Maybe in his area it is; does that make it everywhere? Out west the only mid size tractors are those brands few will buy, yes there is the occasional Kubota, Kioti or Deere but the price on them means they are setting there. Maybe the "wave" is moving east to west?
