OT.
How good is the light with the skylighting on the side, I have not seen that before, I like it:)
I have : They just use short fiberglass pannels for the sky lites.
I think siding the whole building with the Fiber Glass panels would be neat.

I know you guys have a bunch of innovative ideas for tractor storage and workshops. I have to leave my truck outside for now. I'd love to see what everyone does with their tractor and also your workshops!
"note" The intent of this thread is so you can show off your ideas. Oh yes, it is also so I can steal.....Uh, use some of your ideas. haha

Thanks!

Here's my garage/shop constructed in Jun05. Metal frame/siding. 24'x42' with 12' walls and two 10'x10' rollup doors.

Kubota B7510HST and MF-135 (being restored).

Shop has a workbench and a 4'x8' spray paint booth.

I was surprised, the panels do let in quite a bit of light. With all the doors closed the whole building is lit up pretty good. The panels are only on that one side because the other side is close to the woods. There are no skylights in the roof.

Guess I was a little anxious to get one of the trucks in out of the weather too.

Obviously have a way to go but I'm working on a shed which will primarily used for housing my portable sawmill so I can use it in comfort throughout the year. Will also keep the tractor in it. Hopefully roof in the next week or so.
We milled all the lumber from our own trees. Seems to take a bit longer going from trees to building.

Is the lumber kiln dried and if not how did you get a building permit?

The nice thing about the side panels is there is no need for roof skylights and no risk of roof leaks around them.
Another advantage of side panels is they let in light with out leaky windows.

These panels will certainly let in light, but you can't insulate them and they certainly don't replace windows. Great for a storage shed, just not practical in cold weather areas for work shop natural light.
