You are correct, TSC's website doesn't give a lot of detail, especially on the larger items.

You will really enjoy having one close by! Oil & fluids, pins, parts, tires, hitches, fertilizer and much, more.

On a scale of 1-thru-10 I'll give them a 7 or 8, always room for improvement, and it can vary from store to store, but, overall you will like having one so close.

You'll find the attachments and such vary from the website, to what is actually shipped to the stores.

WoW! does that name ring a bell, we used to live in Biddeford,Maine 27 years ago, it was nice and quite then and Old Orchard Beach was the hang-out spot in the summertime and those Pine Point seafood was the best

TSC has changed over the years. There's been one in this immediate area for 35 years (or longer) It USED to be a REAL farm supply store. Now they're more of a novelty shop with some farm related items. The quality of each store varies from location to location. Generally, they start off good. Then the changes start. Now we have 3 TSC's with-in an hours drive. One is an updated version of that original one around here. Same owner. He carries a LOT of stuff that isn't ordinarily found at TSC. Good store, competent staff. GREAT business. #2 is middle of the road. Decent manager(s), fairly well stocked. #3 is a bit of a joke. They had ONE person working there that actually knew anything. He was let go because he spent too much time helping customers. The manager has not the first clue regarding what he sells. Always understaffed. Always poorly inventoried. Never clean. They are located in a highly populated area just on the border f a VERY rural area. They do business because of proximity to large customer base. The "only game in town" sort of situation.

Hope you get a good one.

#3 sounds like the TSC located near my house. I spent 30min looking for a tire valve adapter and I only saw 1 person actually working in the store the whole time I was in there. I finally had to wait in line at the register to see if he could help me. When I finally was able to ask, the only response I could get was "Why would you want to put liquid in your tires? I've never heard of that." I hate to say it but my local TSC is a joke. I was excited when it opened, now I cringe if I have to go there. Hope your store gets some respectable management, good luck.

There are several around here too. As others have already hinted, don't let the name of the store lead to to a false conclusion. The amount of supplies they actually sell for tractors probably makes up about 0.01% of their inventory. I'm betting a full 50% can be bought cheaper right up the road at WalMart. That said, they are a valid source for entry level implements and some livestock supplies.

No entry level prices though. Surprisingly too, as there are several ag-related retailers in the area. You'd think TSC would want to compete. In almost every case, I can find something TSC sells - cheaper at one of the other places. And the comment about being understaffed with employees (and mangagers) who don't know either the merchandise or anything about customer needs - spot on !

The TSC nearest me caters a lot to the horse crowd. Has a large farm/Western clothing section (pricy), a pretty good feed section including the tanks and tubs needed for feeding and watering the critters.

They have a good selection of tractor fluids, fair to middling selection of tractor parts (small stuff, pto's and related hardware, etc), fair selection of tools. There's a good selection of welders and welding equipment, air compressors/fittings/tools. The garden tools/riding mower selection is OK.

Outdoor they have a good selection of fencing, gates, flatbed trailers (single axle mostly) and a good selection of King Kutter tractor implements.

I agree with Farmwithjunk, I would like to add the Canadian TSC stores of today are very expensive. At one time you never had to worry about overpaying. In the past TCS was very competitive and they almost always had the best price. Today I only purchase sale items and never anything like fertilizer. Their 3ph implements are private labeled "BE" brand and are 50% to 100% over priced. In my opinion way over priced. Now I buy most of my supplies at agromart stores or family run feedmills.

Anyone have any late word on when Merrimack, New Hampshire is opening or if it has already opened???

I have found that TSC is pretty competitive on a lot of items - even better than Walmart at times.. Right now PowerService is about $4 or $5 cheaper at TSC than Walmart.. I also ordered a ROPS mounted umbrella from them and it was about $70 which i thought was very reasonable..

My local TSC has always been helpful and pretty well stocked.. But a couple times they have been a little short on personnel..

Sounds like a each store is a little different, I just have to wait till they open to see what kind of store it will be. I do need a boom for my 3pt hitch, online its under $100 bucks, Probably junk for that price but at least if its in the store I'll be able to see it up close and personal.

Merrimack ??? I had no idea. Well i guess i won't have to drive to Maine to check one out then.

The key thing buying 3PH stuff from TSC is that you don't have to pay shipping - which can be a bunch for some items. Their quality varies - buyer beware.

I have shopped in, and bought items from, at least one TSC store in Oklahoma and five in Texas, and yep, the quality and knowledge of the employees varies considerably. Of course, that's probably true of almost any large company with lots of stores. Unfortunately, the worst TSC store I've been in is also now the closest one to my home. Just my luck, I guess. But overall, I think you'll be glad to have one in the neighborhood.

the 3 point implements carried by my local tsc are made by king kutter. i like having a tsc around. but they are not a bargain in my area.

Quoted from the following source:

The closest one to me in western NH is in Rutland VT, right on Route 7 on the south side of town.
