Thanks for the info....... i'm gonna stick with sales-tax-free Merrimack, NH though.

BTW....... pet food ? I find the dogfood (Iams) expensive there in comparison to where i've been purchasing it.

Living in a Boston suburb, I will continue to use the Merrimack store as well. The new Coventry, RI store and Merrimack are the same distance for me.

TSC opened a new store in NJ recently, on Rt38, North Hampton Twp (near the inspection station). I stopped there yesterday to pick up a new Cat-1 pin & check the transmission operation of a truck I've been thrashing on for the last few days. I hope they do enough business to justify keeping it open, because the next 2 closest TSC stores are over 1 hour each way away. This store is close enough that the total trip, plus shopping, only took me an hour. I'm a happy camper! :D

Hi All -

Was wondering if the Dougster could do me a favor. Today, I got a call from Asst Mgr Scott at TSC in Merrimack to tell me that he had talked to a sales rep from King Kutter, who said that the black PTO shaft would work on my 72" rototiller. I told him no thanks, that I wanted a Eurocardan. He called KK and said the Eurocardan was not available. I told him I could buy one from Agri Supply; and he said if I brought in the catalog, he would deduct the price of the PTO shaft from the cost of the rototiller. It seems funny that you have to go to the competition to make this thing work.

Doug, I was wondering if you could measure your PTO shaft length so I can be sure I order the right one. If all works out, I will be picking up my rototiller Sat AM. Can I fit it in a pickup truck, or do I need a trailer? Also, what do they load it with? Forklift?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dennis

Are they (TSC) still selling the KK tillers? Only reason I ask is I went to their website tonight and notice the picture for the heavy duty tillers is not available and the prices have gone up. They do have a pic of the sub-compact tractor tiller.

It loooks to me like they are-see new web site at
Tractor Supply Company - Tillage

I am going to buy the KK 60" HD box blade on Tuesday. I noticed the new web site has a higher price on that unit as well. I would think the extra cost is for shipping and handling.

You might be right about the higher prices! Yesterday there were no pictures, but the site is up today, from your link! I will check from my end of the cyber world and see if it comes up the same way. I guess the higher prices is what I get for sitting and waiting to buy the darn thing.

The ones I have been to in the Mid-Atlantic seem okay to me. The tend to have a a lot of implements. The one local to me and its sibling about 25 miles away, do maintain knowledgeable people.

Wayne-my hope is that the shop-in-store prices are still the same as before and the higher prices only apply for internet shopping S&H

Hi All -

Just a short note to let you know that I picked up the 72" KK rototiller today - minus the PTO shaft which I have ordered from Agri Supply. TSC couldn't have been nicer to do business with. Want to thank Dougster for all his input, information, and pictures. It was all very helpful in my ordering the right PTO shaft out of Virginia. Hope it works as good as my JD 550 rototiller. Thanks for everything.

Dennis
